In 1998 a film project brought the people of Barrow together. A story idea by local man, starring local actors, captured Barrow at a time of uncertainty. Twenty years on producer Darren Mapletoft and writer-director Ian D Fleming return with a fully restored and remastered cut.
On Friday 7 September there will be a free screening of the film. Why not come along and join us as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of this project and see how our town has changed.

We went to the panto last Sunday and just wanted to say it was brilliant. I ended up getting embarrassed cos I had to go on stage but we enjoyed every minute of it. Brilliant cast all did brill. Thanks for a great show x

User

Visit here lots! Got some great acts coming to sunny Barrow. Love the comedians, and the latest visit was to see legally blonde which was brilliant. Excellent venue, always clean, staff friendly and they have kindly provided 'leg room' with your seat (which you don't get in every theatre!) Great mix of big Acts with local groups .

There's a lot of great acts on at the forum nowadays and it's great to see that people are supporting it, Ross Noble seemed to be sold out

The team are so hard working. I've just been to the Love Barrow Awards where they transform the theatre into something that gives the Pride of Britain awards a run for their money. Joanne, Lee and the rest of the staff work so hard to make this venue tick

User

The staff are fantastic, and it’s an amazing venue. Glad to know about the rooms upstairs for hire for future events.

Me and my family had booked to come and watch the panto at the forum on the 19th December. My 6 year old daughter has a bit of a fear when it comes to watching shows which became really bad this year. We wanted her to try it because We knew she'd enjoy it once getting over the initial fear. I phoned a couple of days before and arranged to meet Joanne with my daughter lexie in the morning to look around the stage to see that it wasn't scary and it was fun. When we got there lexie was in a bit of a panic and over came a staff member called Lee. He completely calmed her down and took her into the theatre slowly and calmly shown her different things and explained to her about the panto and the lighting and was really lovely with her. If they hadn't have been so kind to help us with this year I don't think we would have been able to attend but we did and she loved it and it's all down to the kindness of the forum staff. A massive thankyou from us xxxxx

Love the Forum 28, the amount of different shows they put on, and a variety of entertainment, was there last night to see Barnum, the cafe was open for food snacks drinks etc, which is a god send in the intervals, children and Adults wanting drinks and snacks, toilet stops, plenty of toilets clean and tidy smelling fresh, its a hub of activity for people,a meeting place for coffee and a natter,or a full meal, all catered for,pre show drinks etc,I cant even think as to where people would have travel to to see the types of shows put on by the Forum 28,but it will certainly be some distance.

An excellent theatre with friendly staff who have supported your local hospital radio station, Radio Lonsdale, 100%. Thanks to the team at The Forum, we are once again able to broadcast live concerts to our patients, staff & visitors at Furness General Hospital, and it's all done free of charge. Some of these concerts have been superb and our outside broadcast teams have enjoyed them immensely!
