The Fountain Lodge has recently undergone a programme of refurbishment and now incorporates a railway theme reflecting its historical associations with the steam railway which still operates in the village. Central heating and double glazing throughout make this an ideal base at any time of year and, unlike many hostels, the cost is fully inclusive; there are no electricity meters and showers are free.

The hostel is located in the quiet village of Parkend, in the stunning Forest of Dean. We are next door to the excellent Fountain Inn and we have fantastic mountain bike and walking trails virtually on the doorstep. Parkend is also home to the RSPB reserve, Nagshead, and Parkend Steam Railway station.
