We decided late Saturday to go away I booked a twin room and later my partner decided to come with us, they were fully booked with a wedding party but still juggled rooms around so he could come. Very welcoming, the bedroom we had was very clean very large and beds were comfy . Unfortunately we didn't eat here , but when we want to visit area again I would definitely stay here again & try the food as it looked amazing.

We are new to the area, first trip to the fox and goose was excellent and been going there most Tue eve on our day off, staff friendly and nothing to much trouble, food Lovely, lasagne and fajitas favourite would recommend them both.

Sunday 5th Feb 2017 table of 11 plus 2 kids for Sunday roast.



One word.. wow! Roast dinner was second best to my own obviously. Picked the perfect venue. Nothing was to much for the waitres.

Roast dinner was beautiful. Put everyone in silence. Will defiantly be coming back again.



Initially came a few months ago for lasagna and thought as that was so good would try the roast for my birthday get together. Glad I did 5*

Pre Christmas Meal with my family, food was out of this world, I do think I left a stone heavier!! Friendly and warm welcome from the staff. The pub was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations and Christmas songs playing in the background, we left in a very festive spirit. Will definitely pop back for another family meal as soon as possible

Lovely food Sunday Lunch is great. Would recommend anyone to try it. Staff very friendly and polite.

Good meal tonight. I had one of the specials - the cod summer fish stew - and can highly recommend it. Tasted lovely with fresh flavours, was so good. Staff were very friendly and accommodating too.

Second visit, this time a table for 11. Once again we had good service, food delivered timely and well cooked to order. The sizzling steak is a perfect size meal, would definitely recommend.

I would have rated this a 5 if there hadn't been an unruly dog named Oliver allowed to roam around the tables....

Good food and pretty good service. But when my wife asked to swap her garlic bread for chips with her lasagne she was told she couldn't swap but had to have chips as an extra side (she had garlic bread with her starter so didn't want two lots of garlic bread). BUT when I asked to swap mashed potato for chips with the pork belly that was fine! If someone could explain that to me I would be much obliged! Still had a good night with friends though �

What a shame! Went in for a Sunday Lunch and managed to get a table as it was quiet. Ordered three roast beef and it didn’t take long at all to be fair which was good! Rather bizarre how the veg came out first though and was barely warm when it did.. bearing in mind the selection of veg was a bowl of plain cabbage and very sloppy cauliflower cheese. When the roasts came we were left so had to then ask if we would get the rest of our “selection of veg”. Promptly came out which was good but again only just warm. Beef,potatoes and the gravy was lovely though! Wasn’t horrendous but was a shame especially as they weren’t busy!

We recently stayed at the hotel for our yearly trip to Weston Carnival, check in was quick and room was clean and tidy. As other reviews have already mentioned you can hear the road traffic, it isn't that loud but if you were a very light sleeper you could be in for a disturbed night. My advice to anyone who is staying for Carnival reasons would be to find another location, the carnival tractors sounded like helicopters and this went on for a good hour and half. This is not a complaint against the hotel, just to advise future people. Breakfast the next morning, the Continental options were not kept filled and we had to ask for food to be topped up. There is no childs breakfast menu, although the kitchen will provide a breakfast once you specify what you want. The waitress also failed to deliver the drink that was ordered at breakfast. Location wise it was great to access Weston Super Mare, and Puxton Park.

Not very flexible on what a customer wants - a bit motorway cafe approach. This is what we do and do not alter. Can't have half pint Guinness - 92 year old had to have a pint and waste most of it. Very pleasant well spoken young male serving - mother ? & daughter

? more interested in their mobile phones. Food mostly good - Lasagne tastless. Spotless and very clean modern bar & restaurant area. Prices a bit inflated and hotel prices rather than public house. For the one & half hours there only 3 couples as customers - not surprised. Gained the impression of this is what we are prepared to provide not what a customer would like. Will not be rushing to go back - shame really, the place good be buzzing with customers with the right culture in place.

It took half and hour for the food too arrive only order some cheesy chips and the Chocolate brownie was like a brick but very lovely hot chocolate but no cream they had run out probably not sure I would go there again in a rush

Booked for a table of 6 for Mother’s Day at 5.30pm was not told however that there would be NO ROAST. My mum even called twice on the day to confirm our booking and add two people but was still not told. There was no apology when I said we hadn’t been told and we even saw a roast being delivered to another table which disappointed us even more.

Disappointed the last 2 visits unfortunately. Especially our 2nd visit today. We booked a table earlier in the week, when we arrived we waited for around 10-15 minutes before we eventually grabbed some attention.

She then squirreled off, when she came back she said give me 2 minutes and wasn't apologetic at all.

As tho we weren't expected. We were then seated in the bar rather than the restaurant. Drinks came promptly but to our suprise we had to order from the bar?? We book a nice table for TABLE service.

They were obviously understaffed which I can appreciate but an apology would be nice.

The food is always very nice, but service needs improvement.

We went for the Saturday night of Bridgewater Carnival. From the outside and from the welcome we got on entering the place we thought that this was going to be nice. Indeed, when went to our room we were happily surprised. The room was clean and a lovely size. After we unpacked we dined there before going to the Carnival. My wife had the fish and chips. The fish was dry. My daughter had the burger and chips. The burger was inedible, I know because I tried it. I had the tagliatelle. That was salty, tasteless and tepid.

After the Carnival we got back to the hotel at around 10.20, hoping to have a drink at the bar. The place was locked and bolted tighter than an egg. The woman in charge informed another guest who had brought the same thing to her attention was told that they were quiet and so closed a 9. The place was full of Carnival goers. Surely they could see that anytime after 10 they'd be heaving in the bar.

The place was in the middle of nowhere so it wasn't like we could go anywhere else.

The beds were sheets and blankets. We were astonished. It must be the last place on earth to use them. My 14yo daughter had never seen them before. We had to explain all about them. I had to use all my power of memory to recall them.

Breakfast tasted ok but there was very little of it. Mine was tepid again.

Checkout was at 11am. We thought it was 12 like everywhere else on the planet and we had a knock at our door bang on 11 to remove us.

Lesson learned. I won't stay there again.
