Exciting times ahead 😁. Lots of plans in the pipeline for an amazing new look for The Friendly Plaice later this year......watch this space. 👍

As of tomorrow (26th) we will be adding a new meal to our menu. Our Mixed Grill will consist of Rump & Gammon Steak, Gold Pork Sausage and Liver all served in a delicious rich gravy with peas and chips. All meat is purchased from Bates of Atherstone. Introductory offer of £6.95.

The Friendly Plaice now serves Line caught skinless & Boneless North Atlantic Cod. Haddock is generally served skin on as a tradition, but can be skinned on request. Fish, chips and peas anyone 😀

went in feeling like crap, came out feeling fabulous! staff are so friendly even make the effort to have a little chat whilst waiting for FRESH food. Seriously the best chippy in town :) Only problem is the portions are too big! xx

Went their last night 2 fish, 1 chips and a mussy peas and she only charged me £7.50 a real bargjn and it was delicious!

Let me tell you right now, I've had a lot of fish and chips in my lifetime but passing through Atherstone thought I'd try The Friendly Plaice. Without a doubt the BEST fish and chips I've had. Period. The ladies were pleasant and friendly and the mini fish I bought was like a large fish. Amazing food and service. You won't be disappointed.

If you're in Atherstone and need a chip shop look no further than the friendly plaice... You'll not be disappointed

Had chicken kebab wrap last night it's was lovely ,lots of chicken and didn't break up when I ate it ,chips where lovely too, it was really busy but service was A** .

Had a takeaway at the weekend and it was outstanding the nicest piece of fish ive had in a long time had the cod that was more like a fish steak will definitely use again keep up the good work

Best chip shop in town, the mini fish is massive, the chips are cooked to perfection. Must not forget to mention the kebabs, delicious.

Regularly come here. Make special journey at times. Lovely food throughout and friendly staff. The thinner batter is my favourite, non of that stodgy uncooked stuff around the fish etc. Remember the shop from my childhood when it was Deemings Fish and Chips and owned by my grandparents.

Paid for a large battered sausage, a large haddock and a regular chips - got a sausage with a thin coating of batter, an over cooked piece of fish (that was smaller than a small fish anywhere else) with dark brown batter, and 80% of the soggy chips were mostly black and had eyes in them - will not be using The Friendly Plaice again!!!

For the fourth time running I have used this chip shop and fourth time the chips have been over cooked to the point off being almost burnt, and the battered sausages were over cook the batter was slim to non e.g looking more like plain sausage, have raised points about the battered sausages before with the manager but was told that there where the best in Atherstone I beg to differ sorry but there standards have gone down in my eyes won't be using them again
