The Gallery B&B

A very special place. A b and b above Martyn's art studio overlooking the harbour. We had a lovely room, number 2, on the top floor with a window overlooking the harbour and a separate bathroom with gorgeous alhambra type tiles and a bath! Our first bath on our walking trip in Cornwall AND a waterfall shower. We had a huge superking, comfy bed, tea and coffee, WiFi that actually works and the most lovely garden. It is in 3 tiers sloping up at the back of the house, each one has tables and chairs and you can move upwards to catch the last rays as they dip down behind the hills. We ate fish and chips there and had some wine. Martyn lets you use all of it, he's very laid back. So if you can't do stairs or want someone pampering you 24/7 then it's not for you, but if you want total freedom and to experience the true romance of Port isaac, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Do not stay at this place. He is an awful owner. We booked online with Expedia, and when we got there, he was nowhere to be found. We went next door to eat and asked if they knew where he could be. The waitress told us people were in all the time looking for him. Another couple staying there eventually let us in, or we would have had to found another place. That's a problem since they take your money up front and refuse to refund it. The bathroom was awful--in need of major updates. We didn't hang around for breakfast. The other couple was fighting with the caretaker who was really rude and nasty. We got the heck out in a hurry. Learned our lesson--no other places take your money up front like this place did. Avoid at all costs.

Homey, refreshing time.

We could not have been happier with our choice to stay here. We had a 2nd floor room with an unbeatable view of the harbor. The room was perfect for us - homey and clean with a cottagey, bohemian vibe. There was an en suite bathroom and a window nook with a table and chairs where we ate a big full breakfast looking out at the harbor. We were grinning ear-to-ear at our good fortune.
