Hello friends of the Gamekeeper and folks of Old Buckenham, WE HAVE ADDED A NEW SECTION TO OUR MENU. It's not revolutionary but more traditional. It's a GRILL section: In this we have a 10oz Gammon. 8oz Lamb Rump, Rump Steak, Rib-Eye Steak, Sirloin Steak, and Fillet Steak. All served with the traditional Salad Garnish, Garden Peas, Mushrooms, Grilled Tomato & Onion Rings and also a selection of Potato in the form of Fries, Wedges & Dauphinoise. All the above steaks are supplied by our excellent butcher, D. J. Barnard of Shropham so the quality and freshness is guaranteed. Before you ask there are no vegetarian options.....

Christmas Day - Closed all day Boxing Day - Drinks 12:00 to Close Food 12:00 to 16:00 last orders 15:30 New Years Eve - Drinks 12:00 to Close Food 12:00 to 20:00 New Years Day - Closed all day Then it's all over and back to normal.

Hi all, just a gentle reminder that tonight is "Pie & Pint" night at The Gamekeeper, the pie this week is Chicken & Leek for £10.50 including a pint of Adnams bitter or Amstel lager. I also promised you the Legend that is Theakstone's Old Peculiar well it's here and went on last night......come and indulge in one of the greatest ales of all time......

Celebration Menu: I don't know about but we get fed up with all the commercial & party hype that goes on around this time of year. If we are not careful we will miss the real family & friend meaning of Christmas. This is why we have created a Celebration Menu for you to come and enjoy with your friends and family, sit and chat and enjoy the season. Ale Stuff: Theakstone's XB is on now and going down well. We thought we would follow on in the Theakstone and winter dark ale theme and have the legend that is Old Peculiar next. At 5.6% its a proper old dark winter ale........

Another Announcement We had our unannounced annual visit from the Environment Health Officer and was given a 5 star rating with a pat on the back. To say we are pleased is an understatement 😁

Announcement: No we are not leaving!!! but we have changed our menu. Gone are the salads and here are the winter comfort foods like proper Fisherman's Pie and Slow Roast Lamb Shank. Please visit our web site for the full menu. We have also introduced a MEAT PLATTER with Pate, Satey Chicken Skewers, Duck Kofta Skewers, Beef Rouladen, Buffalo Mozella and Pitta Fingers. We just thought we should let you know that, due to a private function, there will be no Carvery this coming Sunday. We will, however, still be serving your Sunday roast in the pub along with our classics menu as normal.

Jennie's special Chicken & White Wine pie with New Potatoes and a Medley of vegetables for £10.50 and includes a pint of Adnams or Amstel....... Proper Comfort Food..... We also have a gluten free option which Steak red wine and shallot and a vegetarian option of Leak & Mushroom Guest Ales: Arriving today - Adnams Broadside, needs no... introduction if it does then you are 12 years old and to young to drink!!!!! Followed by - Wolfie from Flack Manor, Taste notes Rich chestnut brown with a glorious spicy aroma. Toasted malt flavours complemented by Challenger Bramling Cross and golding hops giving a warm rounded bitter sweet finish. At 4.9% could bite you back........

Woolpit Area Classics visit The Gamekeeper for lunch on a sunny Saturday

We've just returned from a very pleasant Friday evening meal. The food was lovely and the atmosphere very welcoming and relaxed. Well worth a visit, give it a go.

We came for Carvery lunch today for our first visit and we were not disappointed! Fabulous food, the meat especially was cooked perfectly and so much flavour. We all managed a dessert which again was gorgeous. Waitresses so friendly especially Ellie � Can't wait to come again. Ps love the candles and wood burner in bar area when you first arrive.

Was so glad we decided to stop and eat at the Gamekeeper. Lovely country pub, great food, solid value and staff who made the visit enjoyable. Hope to visit again before we our holiday ends. Find of the week award from me :)

Visited for the first time and had a wonderful sweet potato moussaka with baby potatoes which came with butter and a delicious salad. We had dessert lemon cheese cake with ice cream and ginger pudding and custard ,2 courses 2 rounds of alcoholic drinks for £38.00 brilliant. Tasty food served hot, good sized portions. I am not normally impressed when I eat out but the potato and aubergine in the moussaka was fab and the sauce was delicious. Warm welcome,good service. Will defo be back again .

Very friendly and accommodating land lord and land lady. We had lovely burgers, chips onion rings and a brownie and cappuccinos to finish. Dog friendly too.

Returned today and brought my mum along for the Sunday carvery which we had tried previously with the family. The food didn’t disappoint and enjoyed it just as much as the first time we visited - we had more than enough meat and sides to go round. Meat was cooked lovely and the potatoes and veg etc were delivered freshly cooked to table. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and very friendly staff as always.

Enjoyed excellent food with exceptional service. This place is a must if you want to take your dog with you for an evening out.

Came in on Thursday lunch time accompanied by my Aunt and Uncle who were visiting, and my two Dogs. We had a lovely relaxed lunch, with fabulous food and great service. It's so nice to have somewhere to eat locally & know that our Dogs are made just as welcome as us. Thank you, we will be back.

Lovely pub with great staff. Made us and our two JT's very welcome. Pate and Sandwich we had was very good. Hope to visit again soon. Many thanks.
