a party of 5 went for Sunday lunch, if I'm honest wasn't expecting much but was absolutely beautiful, all freshly cooked veg and lamb on the menu was an absolute bonus. when the desert menu arrived the was a huge choice including lot's of old school favourites however not being a huge desert fan my daughter in law asked if it was possible for me to have a cheese board. ..wow just wow it was amazing and huge including a fruit loaf which was to die for, before we left we asked if it was possible to buy one of the fruit loaves which the happily obliged again, lovely place, great service and fabulous food, will definitely go back :)

This is a great establishment nice friendly staff and great landlord and landlady,first class food from salads to roast dinners if you have a sweet tooth the desserts are out of this world the locals are friendly also i know this as I'm one of them.

The service is great, the atmosphere is great, the staff are great.. the food is fantastic and very good value for money.

Thanks to mine hosts Dean & Michelle and to Emmah for looking after us today. Lovely meals. Great service. All in nice comfy surroundings. Would highly recommend this pub to anyone. Friendly staff. Good food and booze....and they do a cracking music quiz too!

Sunday roast was beautiful we only came as saw a friend has posted a picture of her roast dinner on Facebook and came apur of the moment was well worth it delicious and fab service,also our waitress was fab with our little girl

Lovely home cooked food and nice, clean, homely pub. Went for lunch and really enjoyed the pie. When asked if we wanted dessert, my friend said we should as it's your birthday. My dessert then came out with a candle on it which was a lovely touch - and it was delicious too. Service was friendly & efficient. Will definitely return.

Had our wedding reception here 29.04.17. Food was excellent as always,generous portions and piping hot. Nothing was too much trouble for Michelle & her staff in ensuring that our party of 18 had an excellent afternoon. All were catered for from a 3 year old to a 95 year old and additionally the decoration of the private room was superb. Would highly recommend for any occasion and at a very reasonable price.

Had a lovely evening at The Gamekeeper. Our boys had their 21st the previous week whilst at Uni, so we booked a table at the Gamekeeper to mark the occasion when we were all back together again. It was certainly a good choice; the food was excellent (my lamb pie was gorgeous), service was friendly and efficient and our meal was really good value for money ( four mains, four desserts and plenty of drinks for £80... £20 per head!). The atmosphere was just what we wanted - it's difficult to find a place that's not full of rowdy Christmas revellers and blaring Christmas music at this time of year - after three months away at University, we wanted somewhere where we could have a good old chat and catch up. All in all, the perfect evening out and well worth the drive out from Retford.

Excellent food and really good friendly staff,my girlfriend is vegatarian and had plenty of food for her to choose from,highly recommend.

Delicious home cooked food. A group of five of us went for dinner, all ate something different and all agreed it was delicious. Highly recommend the Salmon and prawns in sweet chili sauce, had this twice now.

Always an excellent meal, fantastic value for money, staff are always friendly and great customer care. There's a standing joke with family and friends saying I must have shares in the place as we're always there. So that in itself says a lot!

Accidentally found this pub but glad we did, great welcome by all the staff, food was lovely infact the best gammon I've had in a long time. We will come back with friends next time.

Was treated horribly at the this pub! Was told we would have to leave for not buying enough drinks when we had only been there just under an hour! 4 of us watching the football match we had a lemonade and a pint and then a glass of water between 2. One of our members is on antibiotics and cannot currently drink so her partner decided not to rub it in and shared water with her. While the others were waiting to get another drink at half time of the match. When discussing getting a drink we were told that we needed to start buying more because we were taking the piss while people stood at the bar could be sat where we were. After being spoken to in such a manner we got up to leave, we all noticed being glared at by the owner as we left as well. I would not go back here, knowing that they will speak to there customers in such a way!

Waitress and bar man were both lovely. Food was hands down the worst meal I have been served ever. Yorkshire pudding was stone cold (still frozen) so I sent it back. I was the given a second one that wasn't much warmer. The roasts were obviously microwaved and rock hard. Meat was dry. If your going to microwave meals at least give us a reasonable amount of gravy so I can try eat the food. Lamb was very fatty. Carrots and stuffing was fine. I could have made that myself for a couple of pound.
