The Garwood Foundation Description

A charity in Croydon dedicated working with disabled people for disabled people. RUTHERFORD SCHOOL is an Independent Special School for up to 25 children aged 3 – 19 years with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), severe sensory impairment and complex medical needs. The curriculum delivers bespoke education integrated with physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, rebound therapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy and nursing care. The School has recently completed a new immersive learning space and separate sensory room both of which have been designed specifically to empower the pupils to effectively control their environment.

JEAN GARWOOD HOUSE is a registered residential home for adults with a range of disabilities which prides itself on its sense of community. To meet their needs, the residents at the home are encouraged to lead as independent and sociable lives as possible with the support of the care team.

BRAMLEY HILL CENTRE is a day centre for up to 60 adults aged 18 – 70 + with various disabilities such as cerebral palsy, degenerative and acquired disabilities. It provides a safe, friendly and supportive environment in which to enjoy social, educational and therapeutic activities and work opportunities.
