Nice selection of beers and a relaxed atmosphere. We had the cow pie which even for the half portion is massive and finishing it is a struggle

Must try the pie!! The biggest and tastiest you will ever have!! All food is of a very good quality & very generous amount's.

Good dinner menu and a very large, good quality and good value breakfast! The beer is kept well too. It gets very busy in the holiday season so booking ahead is essential. The quality of meats on the menu is particularly good, and the Cow Pie is something to behold! Don't have a starter if your having that. Even the half portion is humongous!

Friendly and welcoming pub, with a good selection of real ale. Nice traditional decor, with plenty of wood and stone. A proper pub.

The George Hotel is an excellent place to have a meal.

The food was excellent. My wife had the Ploughman's Lunch which was huge and came with four different cheeses. The ham was very good and the bread was warm and tested fresh from the oven. There was plenty of salad; apple, pickles, onion, peppers, all the usual plus a goodly dollop of coleslaw and pickle.

I had the sausages and mash with onion gravy. Really good quality sausages and the mash was nicely done. The gravy was very good, rich and thick, and clinging to the sausages and mash as good gravy should.

The staff were courteous and friendly, not too much though, none of the fake "is everything OK with your meals" just as you've poked half a pig in your mouth.

Also, The George serves Jennings' beer, and you can't go wrong there. The beer was well kept and well served. The background music was just that, in the background. No televisions, no sports, no world news. Just good food, good beer and good service.

Went on a recommendation. Fantastic menu with lots of variety. Food was excellent. We'll certainly be going back to sample more of the menu.

Good beer. Good service. My last visit i had a steak. Decent. Wine was also good. The full cow pie is ridiculous be warned!
