The Ghost Trail Of York

We weren't sure which walk to go on so decided to arrive outside the Minster where at least 3 depart from around 7pm and see which one took our fancy. The first, arriving at 6.55 with a ladder to stand on and bellow at the assemblage was brusque and started talking and collecting money before even introducing himself. We decided we didn't like his style and sought out the next one, the Ghost Trail of York. I'm so glad we did! Greg introduced himself by name and shook hands with each prospective participant as they arrived. He led us safely and entertainingly through the steeets regaling a captivated throng with engaging prose of the black death and ghosts, of Romans and tradespeople, of gruesome deeds and surprisingly placed owls and pussycats (not those setting to sea in beautiful pea green boats). The tour finished all too quickly and was well worth the measly £4 Greg charged. Greg's delivery was different to any tour guides I've ever followed previously and a delight to follow. Definitely recommend this tour for adults but wonder if the prose would be a little difficult for either children or foreign visitors to follow

Fantastic and really interesting

Originally we went to the shambles for that ghost walk, no one turned up which would've been disappointing had we not caught up with this walk. History and ghosts aren't really my thing but Trevor Rooney was so funny and entertaining I really enjoyed it. Was really interesting and would definitely recommend!

Me and my 10yr son loved it....the tour guide was great....the stories were interesting and told with fabulous drama....highly recommended

Greg was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, and courteous, even charming my other half a bit! Even helped us find the pub after! Saw parts of York we would have easily missed and even had some small spooks. Thank you Greg!
