The GlassHouse are a traditional glazing service based in the North East of England and providing a nationwide service.
We are an established and highly regarded traditional glass and glazing supplier, providing a comprehensive glazing service to both commercial and private customers.
Our reputation for quality and outstanding craftsmanship has resulted in repeat orders from satisfied customers throughout the United Kingdom.
Our glazing service includes;
The survey, provision and installation of timber and UPVC frames.
The design and manufacture of new stained glass.
The restoration, repair and treble glazing of original stained glass.
Repair of original frames.
Sash repair and replacement.
Provision of all types of glass including greenhouse glass, safety glass and fire rated glass. We also provide a glass cutting service.
Handmade, commissioned mirrors.

Suitable for beginners and experienced. During this class Karen will teach you the technique of shaping specialist glass and creating your own designs in preparation for it to be fired in our kiln.
You will create a set of four personally design coasters and also a single bespoke decoration - something for yourself or perhaps a gift for someone special ready Easter. Your pieces will then be fired and will be ready for collection the following week.

This one day class is for students who have no previous experience working with stained glass. No previous knowledge is required, all practical skills required will be taught as part of this course. Working with one of our templates you will choose your glass, learn how to cut the glass to size and shape. Then how to lead your panel and solder it. You will complete a lead panel which you can take home that day.
Your fee of £75 includes tuition by an experienced stained glass ...designer, the use of tools and equipment and materials. Each student will take home something special that they have created. There is a maximum of 8 students per class to ensure individual attention. Please note, this course involves working with lead, we recommend that pregnant women do not attend.
We provide all you need to make your panel. Please wear sturdy shoes (no open toes or gaping sides) and old clothes.
Course Times. We begin at 9.45am and run until approx’ 4pm. All our classes are for age 16 and over.
Course terms and conditions; A deposit of £35is required upon booking. Payment of the remaining course fee is payable by bank transfer no later than one week before the class date. In the event of a course being cancelled by the GlassHouse a full refund will be issued.

Karen will teach you the technique of creating Decorative Glass using Frit and specialist glass, creating your own designs in preparation for it to be fired in our kiln.
During our Spring themed class you can create designs of your choice inspired by Karens samples and designs Your pieces will then be fired and will be ready for collection the following week.
... Your fee of £55 includes tuition by Karen, the use of tools and equipment and all materials. You can make up to two pieces of your own spring themed design. There is a maximum of 6 students per class to ensure individual attention, this class is suitable for beginners and experienced.
We begin at 09.30am and the class will run for approx’ two hours. All our classes are age 16 and over.

Using high quality coloured and clear Bullseye glass you will create your own Cabochons - a smooth gemstone style glass shape that you can make into earrings or pendants - something for yourself or a gift for someone special. You can make up to two pendants and two sets of earrin...gs.

This course works with a technique called ‘copperfoil’ to create more delicate stained glass pieces.
This four week course allows you to explore working with copperfoil in any way that you wish. You can use our templates to practice and improve your skills or bring your own design and create it using our tools and equipment.
... Whichever design you choose you will create a beautiful piece of stained glass artwork that you can display in your home. This class is suitable for all levels.
No previous knowledge is required, all practical skills required will be taught as part of this course.

Welcome to The GlassHouse Angel Class.
During this three hour class you will learn how to create your own free standing Angel with glass and solder. (The Angel stands at approx 20cm tall). This class is suitable for anyone, no experience required. (please note all our classes are for age 16 plus).
... Using pre-cut glass pieces, hand cut by our craftsman, we will teach you the art of copper foiling your glass and soldering the pieces together to create your own Angel to take home.
The class fee of £45 includes all materials, tools and tuition required and you take your beautiful piece of art home with you on the day.
We keep the classes small, to ensure you receive our full attention and have an enjoyable experience.

Suitable for all levels and in collaboration with local glass artist Karen Griffiths. During this class Karen will teach you the technique of creating designs of your choice using Frit and specialist glass, creating your own designs in preparation for it to be fired in our kiln.
You can create a design of your own choice. Perhaps a meadow or a local feature such as st marys or Bamburgh castle! Your piece will then be fired and will be ready for collection the following week....
For those who have already completed a Frit class this is the perfect opportunity to improve and explore your skills further with Karens guidance - practice, practice, practice!

Went to the Glass House last Saturday with my daughter to make 3 fused Christmas decorations each to hang on the tree. Loved every minute of it, was so interesting. The ladies who ran the class were very patient & nothing was a problem, we're hoping to do a stained glass workshop next. I can definitely recommend the Glass House.

Well what can I say what an absolutely brilliant day I have had today. I attended the beginners class not knowing a thing about working with glass. Angela and Derek are so patient and encouraging you cant help but feel at ease. The class was six strong which ment that we all had a chance to ask questions and have help. The training style is relaxed and a lot of fun. I cannot recommend this course enough its superb. Thank you everyone for making it a great day.

This was a lovely surprise from my daughter for today's copperfoiling class. Just like the last glass fusing class we did just before Christmas, the session was really enjoyable, the tutors are so friendly and helpful when you need it. I was lucky to win a competition for today to attended a Copperfoil workshop. It was just amazing from start to finish. Had a large stained glass window in a hardwood frame removed from my house and it was modified, refurbished and then encased in a triple glazed unit. The finished article is stunning. My thanks to the The GlassHouse team. Would highly recommend them.
