Wow we were lucky enough to have our wedding reception here yesterday ,everything from the amazing staff who were fantastic to the delicious food that was exceptional nothing was to much trouble , I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone and everyone , whether it's for a drink ,food or the venue for your party or wedding reception it's fantastic !

What an absolute find.It was our 25th wedding anniversary.Had just been on the steam train and a walk by the river.Looked for somewhere to have lunch.Found this little piece of paradise.Staff were amazing and the food was to die for.Will be revisiting.The gardens overlooking the small lake were just lush.

This weekend we had our wedding reception here and it really was incredible.



Thank you to everyone at The Globe for all your hard work in making our big day even better. A big hug to Karen, we couldnt have asked for a better host. All the way through you were helpful, supportive and full of great advice. Our guests felt warmly welcomed, well taken care of and couldn't praise the venue enough. The place looks stunning. The food and drink was outstanding. The whole thing has been very overwhelming.



We are so happy you could all be part of our amazing day. It really was everything we wanted and then some.

The food here is exceptional, presentation and quality,value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful , on top of all that theres a lake in the pub garden. This is officially my favourite pub

Stopped off for a drink with our chocolate Labrador after a walk around the town - wonderful garden with a view on the Old Pond and very friendly welcome. And delighted that our dog could join us in the garden and pub!

My local..what's not to like! Always good!

Lovely place to eat, food was absolutely gorgeous, service very good, table was beautifully set with candles etc, loved everything about this place.

Incredible food. I ordered the belly pork with black pudding mashed potato which is going on my 'dish to make at home' list. One word: sublime. Beautiful venue too. Top marks! Thank you.

Had a great time in this lovely pub. It has a friendly and relaxing atmosphere with a very helpful work team. The food is absolutely delicious and not over priced. We also shared a jug of pimms while looking out at the beautiful view across the pond, a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon!

Great pub, great food and great location! We popped in for lunch on a visit from the Watercress Line and after a walk around the Millenium Trail. The beer garden was superb (some more wicker seating would be nice) and the food choice was brilliant. I had the pea and mint risotto and my friend the chilli beef salad - both were excellent!



I wouldn't hesitate to go here again!

Great day/night big improvement on last year! I enjoyed the selections of Ales (don't drink cider) maybe a little too much and have been recovering all day today.

Called in today and had a drink, what a lovely place and the garden with the lake lovely. Will certainly be back for lunch, didn't eat today as we had had a large breakfast and wasn't hungry. Really lovely touch in the ladies loo as well if needed.

5/5 the staff are amazing, both inside and outside were busy on food. Even under pressure they deliver outstanding service. You cannot expect food served at their level in the time expected, so hats off....well done. You guys do superb. Highly recommend

Stopped off here for a meal after a recommendation from a local company. Great food and beer with views out over the pond. Parking is an issue if you have mobility issues as you have to walk 50- 100yds from on road parking.

I will be back in the summer to sit and eat outside.

It was Sunday lunchtime, so extremely busy and the poor staff were running around trying to keep up with the orders, the food took a while to arrive, but was delicious. A very nice relaxing afternoon spent in the garden by the river.

Lovely location and quaint decor resulting in a traditional pub atmosphere. After requesting a table it was set for us quite quickly. From then on the service was very poor. Staff seemed disinterested when attending the table and lacking management. Food was OK when it arrived and drinks served after a reminder or two. Perhaps this was just a bad day with staff shortages, but it did detract for the overall experience. We may try it again for a second chance.
