Where ever we visit york and childcare permitting we visit this pub , fabtastic place , great atmosphere , great choice of real ale, helpful staff , quirky little rooms and the jukebox is fantastic

We are so glad we stumbled across this amazing wee pub full of history and great staff and landlord and landlady and two gorgeous dogs - we were there in June 2018 to celebrate my birthday - and we be back in October - great homecooked food -

UK Veterans One Voice held a march in York. We spoke to The Golden Slipper who agreed to accommodate our needs. We had people of various disabilities and age groups, in agreeance they laid on some lovely sandwiches. The staff - well I can't thank them all enough for their kindness. Nothing was too much trouble and should we have an event in York again.....we will be going to The Golden Slipper

Stopped in for a quick cold drink . Drink made exactly how I like it. Landlord very welcoming with prompt service.

Will definitely be coming back!

Spend the weekend in york nd this was the best pub we went into 5* staff and the landlord was so friendly and welcoming will definitely be going back next time we are down would recommend to anyone

One of my favourite old time traditional pubs me and my husband when visiting York always enjoy a drink here, the Carling which we drink is always on top form and the atmosphere is always pleasant and we love the old time music on the jukebox

My mum comes in everytime she visits York, this weekend Was my first visit and definitely won't be my last! Fruit wine is to die for and I really enjoyed the reasonably priced pub food :D Thanks staff!

Lovely last evening here in York... great music... good beer and a lovely welcome from the landlord! A real pub!! Highly recommend a visit... shame we didn't find it sooner!! ��

Loved this pub. Me and my partner spent most of our weekend here and loved it straight away. Staff and the landlord himself where great all weekend. We will be returning as soon as we can.

Love it here its a nice place to relax and unwind with some fruit wine and food good too excellent

I live in York and think is our favourite. Friendly welcoming staff, cosy interior, doggy friendly and great live music on Sundays. Mixture of visitors both local and couples away for a weekend, always friendly and well worth a visit.

Absolutely charming place. Came in on 19th may 2018. Excellent bar staff, friendly, chatty, helpful, genuine people. On my trip to york, definitely the pub I would single out for people to visit. Keep up the good work.

Lovely food from Cruella's Kitchen, the lamb shank was cooked perfectly. Good atmosphere and authentic old decor inside. We will be back again!

Can't believe the 2 staff working tonight don't know what a Bloody Mary is and claim they don't sell them despite all the ingredients been sat on the bar, incompetent is the word
