I loved it will go back οΏ½
I have been coming here for over 8 years. Friendly staff worth up grading to premiere room as dining in the Victorian restaurant is very good. Great location for travelling over to France or visiting local places such as Canterbury, Hythe railway, Dim Church, Romney Marsh etc.
what a great value place to stay had a fantastic stay for 5 days last week would reccomend to anyone wishing to try ... absolutely super
Very accommodating have been staying there for years, can even take my bichons with me which is an added bonus...
Nice place, would stay there again. The lower priced rooms aren't the grandest but you get what you pay for. Priced fairly. The hotel is well located and within a nice walking distance to the town. The bar staff were nice but the reception left a little to be desired but overall I would recommend the Grand Burstin hotel and would stay there again.
Had a 4 night stay at this hotel and must say had a very pleasant stay. Beds comfy and spotlessly clean, towels changed every day. Evening meals, plenty of choice and delicious as well. Staff, friendly and helpful, all in all a nice relaxing stay. Would definitely return.
Great deal and live music. Clean rooms and tasty food. Its a must!
Stayed here many times , always had a good stay, people should remember if you pay peanuts ,you won,t get 5*****' but could do with a revamp,
For the price we paid can't complain, but I would of been happy to pay a bit more for a better breakfast
Old in need of refurbishment. Lift broke every day. Actually got stuck in it on our visit. food was ok but if I'd known what it was like I would not have hone there
What can you say about this place...the room decor has been done by the chuckle brothers, rarely do you see this amount of bodging.
Food, I would rather eat out the bins at the back of a fish shop but if mass catering is your thing...
I have seen faulty towers mentioned, generally I would complain but there are so many things it has become comical..
But, we have come a few times for just a cheap bed, which is clean..why, because of Folkestone, a gem of a place. In the morning we walk to the harbour to get a nice coffee. From here we can cycle miles along the coast.
It suits us to come here, don't expect much if you do come..
We had a party of 13 for a 60th birthday weekend celebration & was told there was ample parking.
Well this is not true.
The birthday boy turned up & had the first 2 hours ruined as there was absolutely nowhere to park & as the family was arriving the situation got worse....there was no help except for being told we could park in a pat & display (limited to 5 hours).
The rooms are basic & clean.
Ordering lunch in bar to find health & hygiene didn't exsist, girl was serving sandwiches on plate, then putting saldad from chiller on the plate by hand then chrisps, there was no gloves used to do this, she would then do the till take your money take the pen from her mouth & take the next order & start all over again (",).
You would expect after saying about her hygiene standards that she would have out gloves on but no she just carried on as normal.
I have given it 1 star for the bedroom alone .
Totally agree I was wed to fri not going there they trying say there going on Monday yeah right we had them in nayland Rock they never gave my money back horrible place
Rooms smell of stale smoke the beds are too small .no room to turn over without falling out .the hallways smelt of smoke . the food not bad but cold .OK if you like cold food on cold plates and you smoke
If it were possible to award no stars, I would have done so. One would not believe that establishments such as this still exist in the twenty first century, unfortunately they do. I can summarise the Burstin as Fawlty Towers meets the Phoenix Club but without the charm or character. The lifts have the aroma of 'burst bag', I would recommend life insurance before tucking into your cooked breakfast and as if the whole experience isn't bad enough, it's the only hotel I've ever stayed in where you are practically physically evicted at check out time - they literally knock on your door. Keep up the good work Brittania. Fabulous.
