We visited for the first time on Sunday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had champagne breakfast, it was superb. The food, coffee, great tea and the service was exceptional. Definitely return. Thanks very much
This was my third, or fourth visit to the Grand Cafe and I can never fault the service, me and my friend were seated quickly, and the Grand High Tea was to die for! It was her first visit and we both agreed that the quality, and the quantity of the food was well worth the price. Not over priced like some of the afternoon teas in Oxford can be, but every bit as grand. And the best White Peach belini either of us had had. Brilliant, will be coming back!
Terrific coffee and don't miss the lovely hot chocolate. Interesting and delicious cakes. It's small so gets crowded very quickly. Go at less popular times to ensure you can get in.
Our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The quality of the food and the service was very good. The coffee is very good too.
I love and miss the High Tea at the Grand Cafe. Wanna go back to Oxford. :)
Good tea and scone. I want to especially thank the waitress, as I am not feeling well with my throat, she put some honey and made great tea for me. Definately will come back!!! Well done.
Good Coffee and snacks, I must congratulate the waitress, I’ve never seen such a hard working girl and with a smile on her face !! Well done.
Food r great, tea really great. Sweet and helpful waiter. This is a great place to stay for a while.
Fabulous food and service. Had smoked salmon bagel with a lovely chilled glass of wine. Had to wait to be seated but was so worth it! 🥂🌮
had a lovely lunch today at this little cafe, very styllish and modern with great food and great staff. nice location, would recommend and definitely visit again!!
We were looking for a place to have lunch with 2 children , food was lovely, service was good
We all found something we liked
This place caught my eye from across the street. There's multiple places along this street to get tea and coffee but I'm glad we picked here. Tall ceilings, interesting decor, and you get a feel for the history of the place. I particularly loved the brass teapot counterweight on the door hinge.
The seating is cramped as it's quite small inside. This place is very popular so it's likely you'll have to wait for a seat. My partner said his coffee was great and the hot chocolate was nicer than your average Starbucks or Costa. This is definitely somewhere that gives you an experience rather than just a place to grab a drink.
Lovely little place, must have timed it well as got a table straight away as I know it gets very busy! Staff were friendly and attentive, food was very good and the coffee was amazing!
Been there twice now. Don’t tend to go there because of the long wait for the table. Ordered high tea, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The waitress was helpful too!
No WiFi, no soya milk and I got rocket on my sandwich when I specifically asked for it to be taken off. It was ok for a pit stop but I wouldn’t go especially. Also a little overpriced for what you actually get.
First and...last visit to the Grand Cafe. Tea was nice but scones were awful, frozen and not cooked inside like sticky, small cream ordinary. The waitress didn’t take notice of that, and could not wait for us to leave the place, she was waiting on our side to clean the table!!! Won,t recommande this place. And it was very noisy too. Never again
Today at 14.30 went to have some tea/coffee & sandwiches. On entering only one other table who were settling their bill. Two men were then seated & promptly served & we were ignored by the young dark haired waitress. Another group entered & were seated & yet again were promptly served & we were again ignored by the waitress. Then Ross Kemp came in & was, yes you guessed it served by the star struck waitress & we were ignored. At this point my family & I got up & left as were fed up of being ignored. I'd like to add we are not reprobate's or thugs but visitors to Oxford wanting a bite to eat. Will not be recommending this café, or will I return. She didn't even seem bothered that we left, showed no concern whatsoever. I will be spreading the word on the appalling service
The waiters are so impolite, they refused to bring me a empty cup to share my tea, I had to talk to the manager, also they all the time asked if I finished my champagne and food, I didn't enjoy that
I expected a good coffee given the prices and considerable standard of this place, however, our coffee tasted like warm water with a slight taste of coffee upsetting my appetite until the evening ! Certainly not worth visiting this place...
