Bath's (conservative) MP Ben Howlett is a regular visitor at The Eastern Eye Restaurant in Bath, UK. We're humbled that he considers us as his favourite Indian!
Former Lib Dem MP for Bath Don Foster, former Secretary of State and MP Tom King, as well as the former Governor of Hong Kong Chris Pattern, have also visited us in the past, so clearly wholesome, yummy Indian food entices those from all political backgrounds! :)

BATH is one of the world's most beautiful cities, with a sublime mix of Roman, Georgian, Palladian and Neoclassical architecture, offering beautiful sights and examples throughout the city. It has much to offer potential visitors, not only with respect to things to do and see, but also a diversity of high class cuisines. Visit The Eastern Eye, a multi award winning Indian Restaurant in Quiet Street, just off Milsom Street, and one of the few grandiose Georgian buildings left within the city. Indian cuisine at it's most wholesome and best!

The Eastern Eye Restaurant in Bath has been chosen by the British and Irish leading 'Where chef's eat' guide. The Eastern Eye is the only Indian restaurant in Somerset that has been chosen and published in the guide! We are not even sure when the author of the book dined with us. Thank you!

User

We had the Mughal for 2 and everything was just so good! This is really one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. The setting is really nice with the Indian wall paintings. The bathroom needs updating. Overall, great experience!

User

We came here 3 yrs ago for our 1st Wedding Anniversary and decided to return tonight for our 4th. The food was delicious! Portion sizes were generous, staff friendly and attentive even though the place was busy.

My wife was delighted to receive a gift from you at the end of the night as well. You've certainly added to our return to Bath. Thank you very much! We'll be back :)

User

Shaun particularly was amazing - funny, courteous, attentive ..& to present me with a gift and card at the end of my evening after taking time talking to us was amazing. Food fantastic. We will be back. Superbly atmosphere & ambience

User

User

Love this place. Been going there for years even before they moved to current beautiful location. Staff always very helpful and friendly especially the two owner brothers who always know us no matter how long between visits. Good excellent and nothing too much trouble even created something mild off menu for my young granddaughter.

User

Delicious well cooked and flavour food, along with great customer service

User

Awesome food, great service. The restaurant is a fantastic room, although some of the tables are quite close together.

User

Amazing food, probably had the best Bombay potato I ever had. Keema naan bread was just how I liked it. Had a Lamb Madras for a main which was very tender and full of flavour. Staff were pleasant, the manager came over and chatted to us which was nice. Really liked the Georgian atmosphere. To top it off, this restaurant serves Bangla beer! Bath has some really good restaurants, and this is certainly one of them!

User

Amazing food excellent service an all round great experience. Made space for us even though we had no reservation and were packed so cannot fault the customer service and even gave us suggestions for places to go in bath when we had finished our meal and we're leaving the restaurant. The food was delicious and the portion size were generous. I Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

User

Amazing food as always lovely friendly staff and good service :)

User

Great food, a warm welcome from friendly staff, we didn’t wait too long for our food and I thought it was reasonably priced for the quality of food. Would defiantly recomend this resturant, but also recommend booking at a weekend

User

Good food in an exotic setting.

User

We went here on a Tuesday evening.

The staff we very friendly and the food was very nice.

The thing that spoilt it for us was the tables were too close together. The restaurant is huge so I don't understand why we were packed in like sardines in only half of the restaurant.

Me and my husband were out on a 'date night' and I was sat so close next to a teenage emo that I could smell him

Just read through the other reviews and this restaurant needs to listen as a lot of people for years has also said the tables are too close!!

User

Beautiful venue tho a little tired - the hallway is in need of painting and the ladies were grubby. The food was good - not great. And to be charged £4.95 for a jug of iced tap water was insulting. Wouldn't rush back.

User

We visited the Eastern eye restaurant yesterday, food was really nice! Few of the staff looked like they didn't even want to be there, smelt funny..... was all good then all of last night I was up throwing up and had a dodgy belly! My stomach couldn't wait to get that curry out!!!! I've had to take time off work today and I'm currently feeling horrendous!..... a shame really as it was nice.... put me off Indian for a while...

User

First time for us won't be back staff didn't seem to want us there, as a table of 8 took a long time to be seated even though we had booked, food cold staff couldn't remember what we ordered £240 bill with tip you think they should have got it right

User

Went there for dinner last night around 6:10 pm. Was asked if we had reservations, and told they were fully booked. (There were still empty tables with no signs saying the tables were reserved.) We were seated anyways. A waiter took our drink orders. It wasn't until 45 minutes later that we were finally able to get another waiter to take our meal order. This was not for lack of trying. By this time (7 pm), the restaurant was really crowded with diners. Watched a few tables leave for lack of service. It took about another hour to get our food, which was only OK. I ordered the chicken tikki massala which tasted pretty good the first few bites. However, as I continued to eat, it got sweeter and sweeter. When we were ready to leave, we had to wait around for another 30 minutes to get our check. This place was not worth the wait. If you do go, be prepared to spend at least 2 to 3 hours there. It's highly disorganized and the service is insanely slow.

User

Went here with 2 friends on a Thursday night. Waited over an hour for our food. No apology. Will not be returning.

User

We were a large group and of course you take that into account. Drinks order was wrong and took so long to fulfil. Our pre ordered mains were of poor quality and lacked taste. Probably not the worst Indian restaurant I've been to but it has to be pretty close. Avoid.
