Tom from Ainsdale new micro brewery TYTON BREWERY launched his experimental Tawny beer tonight, pulling the first pint for Jonathan Cliff chair of the local COLAPS Group. A high percentage wheat beer with a minimal aroma of hops, Tom says " it's brewed for quaffability" and at 3.7% proved popular tonight.

Pleased to be serving Tyton Tawny tonight at the Grasshopper. Brewed in Ainsdale.

And the lights are ON thanks to everyone who came along what great fun.

The 17th Southport Beer & Cider festival got off to a flying start last night. With the local licensees and brewers coming out to support the event. Part of the evening was the CAMRA Branch awards, and we're so proud that Hillside received 6 of them. THE PINES (Best newcomer) Sasha (Pines) Kate & Emma (Grasshopper) Best Bar Staff. Wow Santa's grotto is absolutely fantastic and just what Hillside needs to bring the community together....thank you to all involved ���� �it's beginning to feel alot like Christmas �

Went in for the first time yesterday and got a very warm welcome from both staff and regular customers. Great selection of 5 cask ales on offer and they were in very good condition. It was meant to only be a quick one but we stayed for at least an hour and had a couple pints. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who directed us to some other good pubs in the area. The place has a great atmosphere and everything was, clean, tidy and well kept. All this topped off with some Welsh banter with a lovely bi-lingual bar maid. Will definitely be going back!

We popped in yesterday while we were out walking, the owner was really friendly & we chatted about the various beers he had & where they were from. We were only stopping for one, but felt so at ease & relaxed,we stayed for another. We will definitely be returning.

We popped in for a quick drink and had a really great chat with the friendly owners. It is a great personable place with a nice welcome. Beer and wine tasted great.

First time in, friendly atmosphere only stayed for one drink as had a meal booked in town but will definitely be returning

Fantastic bar with a great ambience and very friendly staff. Andrew is well informed about all the speciality beers on offer and Angie provides wonderful bonhomie and is a great upcycler which is evident wherever you look in The Grasshopper. Would recommend to everybody and it's perfectly situated just up the road from me! 10/10

A lovely little bar stocked with four excellent local hand pulled ales, craft pilsner & cider and some lovely wines. I got a very friendly welcome from Angie and her daughter and will definitely be back.

A great place to meet you neighbours and have great beer and a chat, a real feel of community
