Went to lunch yesterday with a group of friends...we were all very impressed with the menu, food, ambience and the service we received...all excellent! I’m so happy, as this is my now my local and I can walk there! Definitely ready to go again. We’ve booked Sunday lunch, as it was recommended and I’m really looking forward to the roast dinner, it’s meant to be amazing!

Since the new refurbishment, Me and my man absolutely love this place. I have tried the lamb and he is in love with burgers. They are a bit overpriced to be honest, but the service and the atmosphere was good x

User

Please all the negative results The Grasshopper has had a major makeover with New Management believe me I had the best fillet steak ever the interior is beautiful the staff very friendly definitely will be going back and certainly deserves a five star 🌟

Great pub. Nice new extended outdoor patio area. Food was OK and pay for what you get. A major disappointment was they stopped serving Peroni draught lager and those mini selection of puddings in a shot glass. Bring back the lemon meringue Eton mess. The lady restaurant manager is awesome, what a credit to the pub. Nothing was to much trouble for her.

Great evening with some school friends from LYT Manor class of 76, staff were friendly and food was amazing and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, thank you everyone x

A great place to stop for food on the way home from the beach

Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I hope to visit again soon

Visited the day after it opened after refurbishment. Was excited to see transformation as I live on the doorstep. It's gorgeous both inside and outside now after it's makeover. So Hall & Woodhouse a thumbs up for the stylish interior and exterior. However, the menu I thought was limited and very overpriced. Fish and chips £16. 3 puddings and a couple of drinks cost me £42. The food was lovely but a burger is a burger when all said and done. Too expensive for me to be a regular again. Which is a real shame.

Today Saturday 21st July 2018. This the time we been back to The Grasshopper since the refurb. The welcoming was very friendly and the food was very nice :)

User

Just been to the newly refurbished grasshopper

WOW fantastic new decor you have done a really great job I love it had a drink price not bad

However I think your food is a little overpriced would i go back yes definitely for a drink but will wait and see about the food.

Fantastic venue and the staff are so friendly. The only reason this isn’t a 5/5 is the lack of sharing boards on the menu which would have been awesome for those that aren’t overly hungry. Other than that, would totally recommend this place to anyone

User

Enjoyed the Grasshopper, food good and pub nice, just one thing, if you have customers waiting at your bar, break off from bottling up and restocking and then go back to it. Otherwise great place

User

Pub food at restaurant prices. Under cooked beans noted by the staff but no sorry or replacement offered , just ill let the chief know. Lovley decor and good service just not sure we would go out our way to go back.

User

Lovely pub, beautifully refurbished. Great atmosphere and dog friendly. Ate here for the second time and disappointed on both occasions. Food well presented, arrived at table quickly but food stone cold. Will pop in for a drink in future but won’t eat here again until the food improves.

Lovely decor & shame about the menu! Not much of a choice ! I had the tapas like food ! It was dry ! Not much off it, not presented well ! Too many plates! I would go for a drink but not eat in there again!

Loved the inside of the grasshopper. My partner loves it down their so we were excited to get down now it’s opened. We had drunk down their with no problem or complaint. Today we ate down their, the food portions are generous & the staff are lovely however we waited 45 minutes for our starters which in my opinion is long and although the staff are lovely they didn’t come across well trained. The pub wasn’t busy and we weren’t told in advance it was a long wait for food. For the price your expected to pay we expected a quicker service.

Great place, but the coffee machine keeps dishing up lukewarm coffee.been twice with the wife, and both times the latte's were luke warm so as to not dissolve the sugar lumps.had an espresso which was bitter to taste...vile in fact.but will visit again as a really cool place.

The refurb is stunning but the food was just not up to scratch. The food was very pretentious, over priced, limited choices and unfortunately my meal was not cooked well. This being said the new set of staff are lovely and if i could rate them separately they would get more than 5 stars, nothing was too much trouble and they were incredibly apologetic, a really wonderful team from what we saw. With this being my local and a place where we would go for lunch or dinner very frequently I really hope the management go back to their roots a little and receive the recent feedback with an open mind. Onion rings, coleslaw with the burgers and good old fashioned chips as a side with maybe some basic pub food and cheaper options for those who want to eat out on a budget, or don't like all this 'hipster' food would make the menu much more appealing.

The new refurbishment wasn't to my personal taste...I thought we were in a food bank. The menu was limited and over priced. On the plus side the outside area now looks beautiful...perhaps a visit in the summer would make a difference.

Had dinner on Saturday night. Service excellent but food below par. Mushrooms on toast soggy and watery duck main course over cooked and tough. Sent the duck back and came back the same!

My Ribeye steak was good. I think the new refurb is excellent but sadly I would only go in for a drink now and wouldn't go in for food.
