Wonderful pub in the heart of Mere green, food and service is always good, can’t wait to come back

Visited for the first time yesterday for Sunday lunch for a birthday. We were a fairly large group of all ages. The staff were lovely, especially our waitress (Sorry I have forgotten your name). The service was wonderful, felt very relaxed and not rushed at all. The food was great, hot and tasty. Thank You, will definitely return.

Very happy! Ate here today food was great. And most importantly they are dog friendly!! in a limited area at the bar and in the sunny beer garden, amazing!

I have just had the most wonderful afternoon enjoying the bottomless prosecco lunch. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I can not fault our afternoon. It was perfect, thank you to the staff at the Green House, we can not wait to come back. Impeccable service is a rare quality in establishments these days and the staff today were completely faultless. Thank you x

Had a lovely meal here last night. We have never been before but it was our 25th wedding anniversary and a friend recommended The Green House for its food. We were not disappointed. Smashing varied menu including Lebanese, French and Japanese dishes, as well as the usual classic gastro-pub fayre. Good range of cocktails and wines and a bustling atmosphere that allowed intimate chat without feeling you were over-heard.

The service from Tom? was attentive and quirky, (especially the chat about Shakespeare). We waited a little while for the food, but I would expect this when plates are prepared so well. It also gave us time to enjoy a chat and a drink without feeling rushed. The food was delicious! Although I didn't order it myself sadly, I would recommend the Lebanese Kebobs (after taxing a taste from my husband's plate), and the butterscotch and nut slice is delicious, as is the rhubarb and raspberry cocktail.

Love the fact that there were so many interesting things to choose from. We will definitely eat here again.

Had a beautiful meal with my family here today. Alice our waitress was very attentive and did an amazing job of making us feel very welcome. Will certainly visit again very soon.

Great service and staff who accommodated a very large group of us for a party. All the food was served in a timely manner (without being rushed) and was very good quality. We were made to feel special and nothing was too much trouble. Great environment and atmosphere.

Another superb evening spent at The Green House! The staff could not do enough for us, the food was outstanding and as always the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Have been before and will certainly be going again.

Nice place with friendly staff, food came in good time and was very nice. Great location on the Lichfield Road and not far from Four Oaks railway station.

My friend and I had a lovely meal on Friday evening. The staff were very friendly and attentive, couldn’t fault them.

Really good food. Service ok but had to keep asking for drinks etc. Was Father’s Day but felt staff were a bit rushed.

Main course was excellent and desert was delicious and there was a good selection of drinks. The service was mixed. Bar service was great. The waitress service was not brilliant as she never seemed to get to our table and then managed to give us the wrong bill!

However, I would still recommend as a really good gastro pub.

Food was nice but in my opinion not worth the cost & a couple of our party had there meals over cooked or undercooked so food then had to be returned!

Staff were very attentive & the restaurant decor is really nice but let down by the lack of air conditioning on a very warm day.

Wasn't impressed with food today ! Has gone downhill since the last time we ate here. Food was poorly presented 2 thin slices of meat on a bed of cabbage ! 3 tiny florets of cauliflower cheese 2 small roast potatoes and 2 very small parsnips and Yorkshire pudding which didn't taste fresh at all !! Last time we ate here the veg was served separate in bowls for you to help yourself these included carrots which wasn't an option today.!! Paid £3 extra for a tiny portion of mash potato which had lumpy and contained bits of cabbage and cauliflower obviously just been quickly spooned in the bowl with a spoon used for many things ! We booked a table for 16:30 so felt like maybe we had the left overs today !!!

Very disappointed with the lunch service, firstly the new person got my starter completely wrong. Then the menu was given not pointing out clearly what the difference was for the lunchtime choice subsequently cost £49 for 2 instead of £26 that was expected. He also didn’t take off the car parking extra £2 so £51 even though we’d discussed the deduction!! I’ll stick with my favourite place The Butlers Arms that never lets me down on service, price or quality of food for value.

This is our local and we had friends staying so we popped in around 10 on Saturday evening, to find a smashed plate of food on the floor, a lady said it had been there for at least half an hour, there was also very drunk people just dropping their glasses on the floor and no staff picking it up or saying anything. What's going on lately? Not the place it used to be.

Great food and good service from the waiting staff. Unfortunately the waitress split an entire vase of water over me during the meal - despite the waitress being highly apologetic, the manager was actively rude about it, failed to see it was an issue and refused to even give us a complimentary drink as compensation. Highly disappointed with the response and will not encourage us to come back.
