About The Greene Oak

A destination pub / restaurant for expertly crafted cuisine, exciting wine list & a comfy space to meet up with your friends over a good pint.

The Greene Oak Description

Situated a few minutes drive West of Windsor in Oakley Green, The Greene Oak offers diners the best in fresh, local & seasonal food along with an eclectic and interesting wine list, local ales and great selection of spirits. Fabulous menus created by Head Chef Graeme Terrel showcase what this part of Southern England produces.

A warm and cosy interior with it’s restaurant-feel and full table service allows you to relax whilst enjoying some of the finest examples of fresh seasonal British food, carefully prepared and beautifully presented . When the sun comes out (fingers crossed) there are plenty of tables in the quiet garden to soak up the warmth while sipping on a crisp rosé or a lovely bottle of chilled red.

A recent extension means there is now a private space for dinning, larger gatherings and meetings, so let us know your needs and we will ensure we look after you.

The Greene Oak is ideally placed to entertain clients with plenty of private parking or after taking in the sites of Windsor and a perfect antidote to a frazzled day at Lego Land.

Family Sunday lunch is an absolute must so please do book to save your place. Just go on our website & click to make a booking for anytime online.

The Greene Oak Team is looking forward to seeing you soon!

A sad day at work as we bid farewell to the legend that is Lewy as he starts his training to join the Metropolitan police, we’ll miss him for sure but couldn’t be prouder of him for acing his entrance exams. And what does a future boy in blue order for is last supper? A rare sirloin steak and half a pint of Yakima Red obviously....red is the new blue one assumes #shouldhavebeenafireman #lunchtimelegends #brucan #brucanpubs

Spring haul from the hedgerows, wild nettles and wild chervil foraged within 500m of the kitchen. Food tastes better when it’s fresh, wild and free.

User

With the two new guys at the helm, this place is really great! Hands down the best Sunday roast in Windsor! Food in general is really impressive. Looking forward to seeing whats to come with James & Jamie. Thanks for having us guys!

User

What can I say! The best roast dinner I think I’ve ever had! The cauliflower cheese was incredible!! Lovely choc fudge dessert and lovely friendly, attentive staff! Lovely garden area and even treats for our pup! Couldn’t have asked for more. Even if the woman behind us moaned when the bill came that she didn’t like any of her food!! Or the glass her drink came in! The staff were amazing and asked her for her feedback as to why she wasn’t happy and she couldn’t give a reason as to what was wrong with the food... “she just didn’t like it!” Ridiculous the food was amazing! Couldn’t fault it at all. Will certainly be back after another of our 4 mile walks at Dorney Lake!

User

What a find! Had our company Christmas lunch here today & it was fabulous. From the minute you arrive you are spoilt with the best hospitality. The food is wonderful, beautiful little touches make it even better. I can't wait to go back. Thank you.

User

Went to 6 course game tasting evening whilst visiting our son and daughter in law.Was most enjoyable. Food was superb and original. The deconstructed Apple and blackberry crumble was to die for.

User

We love this place! If we ever have friends over it's our go-to restaurant. Service and food are both excellent, always knowledgeable and polite staff that will do their best to make your visit a great experience. We went at the weekend for a Sunday roast and we're very happy with the whole menu, great choice and options if you didn't want a roast. Meal was fantastic as always and desserts had a fun twist! If you are there for a roast and it's still on the menu make sure you have the chocolate mousse!! With a risk of sounding like Arnold Schwarzenegger - we will be back!

User

We had a lovely meal with Kristan as our waiter. Really enjoyed the peach and goats curd salad. Good luck with the new menu .

User

The food was divine, the service matched and overall it was a lovely dining experience with kiddies in tow. Our waiter was so sweet - even immediately going outside (despite the fact that his shift had officially ended) to check on my little boy when he was being comforted by his dad after falling out of his chair....It's little touches like this that make all the difference. We can't wait to return .

User

The Greene Oak has become the place where we know we can always get a lovely meal - it features a pleasant environment, a solid wine list, good service, AND the food is fantastic. Last night was no exception, and we could have eaten our weight in - of all things - broccoli fritters. YUM.

User

Thankyou for a great lunch! It was a hot August Bank Holiday yet we were met with a cheery hello and made to feel welcome . The smartly dressed staff were on top form and extremely courtious. We had just spent the morning trecking around Virginia Waters with the dogs so we certainly didn't dress for lunch but this didn't seem to matter and a table on the patio was made available and drinks brought out to our table. Tasty food, good beer and an excellent attitude maketh' a pub!

User

Passed here en route to Windsor & my daughters job interview , commenting what a lovely looking pub ....

She got the job , we popped in en route home to celebrate , Pol Roger by the glass !!!!

If only we could have stayed to finish the bottle 🙁

Friendly welcoming staff , will come back .

User

Lovely local, nice garden area, great service and delicious food.

Well worth a visit

Dog friendly too!

User

Just stopped at the Greene Oak for the first time and what a pleasant surprise it was: the food was absolutely superb, fresh and tasty , from start to finish. We've had the most amazing dessert (the frozen peanut butter&choc chip cookies, which was divine!!). The service and atmosphere were excellent and we can't wait to go back to try something else from the very appealing menu. Thank you! Susanna

User

Fantastic pub with excellent customer service and great food and drink. The garden is beautiful too. I have just moved to Windsor and we are so pleased to have this as our local. Look forward to visiting again soon.

User

Fabulous lunch in the sun yesterday, fish was so tasty (half pint of prawns, scallops with smoked chilli butter, hake and mussels in cider). Wine list complimented the food perfectly and service was spot on. Liked it so much have booked for Sunday lunch!

User

Call in here when in Windsor waiting for our daughter to finish dancing. Always a good chose of ale on, bar staff are always good for a chat and foods good too.

Give it a try especially if your a real ale nut like me.

Keep up the good work guys and girls. Bravo to whoever the artist is, the stag head chalk drawing is awesome.

User

At last - The Greene Oak is back to its best under the new ownership.... fabulous food, wonderful hosts, lovely atmosphere. Just enjoyed a truly superb meal - looking forward to more great meals here in the near future.

User

Absolutely fabulous meal. My son could decided between chicken nuggets or fish fingers so they done 50/50. Fab service lovely friendly staff. Definitely recommend x

User

A random search on Google brought great happiness to 5 hungry travellers last night! Amazing setting with fab decor and friendly staff who also enjoy a bit of banter too! The menu was varied and carefully prepared and the food was exemplary. If I lived in the area this would become a regular but I'll just have to find excuses to be in the area! Thank you all.

User

Very good . Staff friendly and attentive.Food very well presented and superbly cooked . However it is somewhat overpriced with side dishes extra and sweets pricey also a standard 12.5 % service charge on top makes it questionable because it is still a pub restaurant.

However because of the standard of the food i would return and would recommend.
