Welcome to The Greyhound, a beautiful country pub in Brentwood, Essex. We’re the perfect spot for any occasion or escape.
The Greyhound Description
Whether you’re looking for a long, lazy lunch with family, or a spontaneous mid-week treat with friends, we’ve got you covered. Our beautiful pub and restaurant combines the cosy, rustic features of the countryside with delicious, contemporary food and drink.
Our menus change seasonally to offer you the very best, fresh ingredients. And when it comes to refreshment, our fridges are fully stocked with plenty to choose from, including countryside ciders, cask ales, prosecco and carefully selected wines.
The Greyhound has been open for business ever since the First and Second World Wars where it was a popular spot for German prisoners of war. It’s thought that these men would sneak out for a drink before heading back to nearby Costain Compound.
Our family-friendly pub is a real countryside inn, tucked down a pretty quiet lane, making it the perfect pit stop for those travelling around Essex. Plus our impressive beer garden is a gorgeous addition, especially in the summer months.
As part of the Vintage Inns family, we’re proud of our heritage and welcoming service which ensures you’ll always receive the full Vintage treatment. So, sit back and relax while we take care of the rest. The countryside is calling.
