Wonderful staff & fabulous food - highly recommended

User

We took our two dear friends to The Greyhound on Saturday 1st October. The service was outstanding but most of all, the food was SOO incredible. We could not fault any of it. This is our third visit and we absolutely love the place. The atmosphere of the whole place is so inviting. If you haven't tried it, make sure you book a table SOON!!! :-)

User

We have never had a bad meal, always delicious and always friendly service - one of our favourite places to eat

User

We had an anniversary meal and the soup was delicious and the main was very nice.....unfortunately I feel the roast potatoes were too crunchy and the Yorkshire pudding was a bit dry.....otherwise the evening was great with very friendly staff...

User

We had a lovely meal last night, great atmosphere and attentive staff. Loved the Lebanese wine we chose, so nice to see something different on the wine list! Food was great and we heard about the chateaubriand that had sold out so would LOVE for that to be available next time!

User

Visited this place on Monday and had a great time. The food was outstanding and the service matched. I will be back with my family next week!

User

Stumbled upon this place last night, so decided to pop in and have a bite to eat. What a great little find, fantastic food and very friendly service. Will definitely be back..

User

Staff were lovely, food from the vegan menu was amazing... I am confused to why you don't have milk alternatives but you do have vegan food options? =/ ..apart from that little detail, it was great.

User

Really great, staff were most importantly brilliant and food was amazing👍😉🍀

User

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff at the greyhound today. My friends and I came for Sunday lunch and the food was brilliant. The staff also put a special touch on my dessert as they knew I was leaving the country for a few months.

Can't recommend this place enough.

User

Incredible vegan menu! So much choice, which is amazing for an independent restaurant, usually you have to go to a chain to get one vegan option but the chefs at the greyhound have created a really different and delicious full vegan menu, the staff are really lovely too

User

Haven’t been to the Greyhound in a while but glad we popped in today. Had a nice drink in the garden and though the staff were very friendly and knew a lot about their beers. Will come back for food at some point too.

User

Amazing food! Love the decor and the staff are just so friendly, been here a few times recently and i have had a different meal each time and they have all been delicious and beautifully presented!!

User

Had a wonderful meal last night. All courses for everyone were excellent. Definitely recommend this place. The piccalilli for the ham hock terrine was superb and the cote de boeuf. The blackcurrant sorbet was sharp and gorgeous too! Going to be arranging another evening very soon.

User

Food was excellent, slightly overpriced but all in all a good meal. The Restaurant is very pleasant also. They kindly fitted us in as (silly me), we were a MONTH early for a booking.

User

Lovely pub, steak sandwich was lovely but fish baguette greasy & fish overcooked & dry. Will not be put off though as the menu looks exciting.

User

The food was very good as always, however the service was painfully slow on this occasion. We waited an awful long time for drinks, which should have happened as soon as we sat down.

Sorry, but was a tad disappointing on this occasion.

User

Will not be returning. Awful service last night - got sat down by the toilets and basically forgotten about. We had to wait over half an hour for our mains to to be taken after finishing to then be told the kitchen staff had gone so we could not order pudding. Then when we asked for more drinks we got told by a very miserable woman, who clearly did not have an ounce of customer service skills, that the place was closing in 10 minutes! We had not even been given our bill yet the waiting staff, and manager, were sat in the bar, coats on with a drink! We thought we would test them by walking outside to see if our taxi was there and then poor customer service woman came out and said very patronisingly would we like to pay our bill!! Maybe if you were less interested in that drink and getting home someone would have had the courtesy to bring it to us before 11.30 and before basically throwing it out! We told them about our dissatisfaction - they were very uninterested and told us to call tomorrow to let the owner know! Uh - how about you call us! A letter will be going to head office however I would not recommend the place at all - staff need booting and replacing with people who get customer service!

User

We used to love this place. Sadly let down by almost non existent service. We went as a family to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday and so phoned ahead to make sure there was space. We were refused service when we asked to buy a bottle of champagne (to share between 4 adults) as she had not brought her ID. Our order for bar meals was not even considered. In fact I had to hunt for a member of staff and found the lady concerned hiding by the kitchens, while the bar was left unattended. I suspect the refusal had more to do with her not wanting to serve anyone than ID. I am rather insulted that as the person who delivered said 18 year old into the world, that my word for it is not taken. I also find it quite bizarre that anyone would think that a family would bring an underage child for a fake 18th just to get service? We won't be back. The Chequers is much better, and they care about their customers. That's probably why the Greyhound was almost empty and the Chequers is always full to bursting.
