User

Super carvery, good price, lovely Guiness and friendly staff. If you flying from Manchester Airport give it a go.

User

On two separate occasions when our party ate there we were charged for cash back which we were not asked for or received and after eventually speaking to landlady and management after three visits to complain we were reimbursed and told that we would be contacted by phone after they had checked their records to investigate.. which they didn't do.. be very alert if you pay by card!!

User

Lovely little place clean good breakfast close to the Airport cheap what more do you want.

Lots of places to eat in the town.

User

Lovely carvery. Very pleased with all round service defo go again, took my son out for lunch as he was on crutches got in queue for carvery chef could not do enough put food on plate to delivering food to my table which was across other side of the pub. Excellent service.

User

Good place, good service. Bar staff should be a lot quicker and not letting customers wait long in the queue.

User

Been to this place many times, took my mum this evening, she uses a walking stick and isn't very mobile, the moment the carvery chef noticed this, he took her plate, asked what food she wanted and plated it all for her, he then asked our table number and said he'd bring her plate over, what an absolute gent, very very impressed, thank you and well done

User

Called in today around 5pm, it was very busy with both diners and drinkers alike, as it was our first time in there I checked at the bar if we just find a seat ourselves, and was told very politely yes that’s fine.

We found a free table and had a look at the menu which had great choice, there was 3 adults and one of the party doesn’t eat much so it was great to see that they could opt for a small carvery as this is not usually an option for an adult.

2 of us had the carvery and the other had the chilli beef salad. The carvery was delicious, the meat was succulent and a great choice of veg and nice and hot, and the salad was very fresh and crisp.

Will definitely be returning on our next visit to stockport

User

Would be better if they fixed the child seats... every one of them has been broken for months which i esecially menioned a few months back when had the same issue which i thought would be resolved by now as its health and safety so not very child friendly or enjoyable when you have babies not strapped in properly and not very safe which could be fixed very easily. Will not be going back until there fixed or when were without the kids, clearly have an issue with feedback or they don't want to spend money, makes you wonder what else there scrimping on.

User

The pub interior is very nice and comfortable, a group of us had food yesterday. Unfortunately my food was not very nice, the chicken burger was burnt and the chips were cold, the waiting on staff did not ask if the meal was ok. We were served coffees with a glass of cold milk, apparently they only have 3 milk jugs for an establishment of that size? The staff were lovely but did seem overstretched.

User

Come here a lot for the carvery usually best around. Guy serving didn't speak a word just looked pretty miserable unlike the one usually there. No carrots green beans or mash potato. Might be a while before I return.

User

Very poor service and food, I had steak n ale pie. Or so I thought... it had 3 teeny tiny pieces of steak. That got changed. Meanwhile my daughter had eaten hers before I got my next one. About 5 pieces this time.

The staff weren't interested. Not going there again

We decided after last week's debacle we would try the Griffin again for food. It came before the 45 minutes we experienced last week and we thought all was good. However my wife's hanging steak kebab had to be sent back as it was overdone and after a further 20 minutes wait it came back the same. My wife decided to eat it anyway as everyone had finished their meal. We were offered a full refund which then turned into a round of drinks. As we had just bought a round we declined. The refund never came.

The tables had a please leave by 8pm sign on them and at 7.15pm we were asked to leave as the party of people had just arrived. We quickly finished our drinks and prepared to leave only to find out it someone else and not the 8pm party. We left anyway. Very poor.

User

Tonight was my first visit to the Griffin and more than likely my last. We ordered burgers, which comes with fries and coleslaw. This then took 50 minutes to arrive, it arrived without coleslaw, so I caught a waitress to ask for my coleslaw to be told there wasn't any left. We weren't offered anything else in replacement nor an apology for the delay in the food arrived or the fact we were missing a side from our main dish.

Place is nice inside so it's a shame the customer care is so poor.

User

Today I thought I would take my wife and my two dogs somewhere new as we haven't lived here for long. I called up and asked if they would take dogs. Quote "yes as long as it is in the vault area" please note it also says in the website "dog friendly" we drove there sat down, was just about to order food when we were told "the area manager has just walked in so you will have to eat outside or leave because you have dogs". Total waste of time and will happily tell people I interact with at business networking groups 500+ people to stay away!!!!!

Pre booked for a 60th birthday party Table was booked for 18 table but only set for sixteen first meal came out at six 15 last meal out eight pm first lot finished it was a advertise as a curry night but had no rice just a catalog of errors all night the young lady did try to offered us a free drink and puds

Poor, we were with friends (4 people). Two had hair in hamburger and one on pizza. We had a pizza with a duck (the amount of duck meat was negligible). Really good Griffin was 4 years ago I do not recommend now, although for two dishes with hair they gave money back...

User

Can't really believe the experience I just had in The Griffin, somewhere I would regularly go to eat aswell. I came in on a work lunch with 5 other colleagues and firstly we waited 15 minutes just for drinks to be brought to the table. Then 4 of my colleagues had there food after an additional 30 min wait on to the drinks after another 15 minutes one pizza came out for my colleague leaving me still waiting, after 10 minutes I was going to cancel my order as we had well gone over the normal time you would wait for food to be greeted with a pizza which was completely wrong.

Over an hour to cook a pizza, which was still completely wrong to the one I ordered. All I got was "Sorry about that" and the money back for the pizza & STILL no food. Absolutely appalling service, especially as I recommended my work team to go there on lunch. Won't make that mistake again.

User

Absolutely terrible, went with mum so went 2 at a time, he made us wait 10 minutes, he virtually threw it at us, all the veg were dried up at the bottom of the casseroles, the gravy was lumpy. Then the the next 2 went up he made us wait again, he served me the last Yorkshire and told alice she will have to wait, he went into the back which meant alice waited even longer, we asked him for cutlery and he told us to ask someone else. As we were leaving 5 people were queuing and guess what he was no where to be seen again, so rude!!!That cost me £44.
