Arts and culture has overtaken agriculture in terms of its contribution to the UK economy, says a new Arts Council report. “It tells you about their commitment and determination in spite of the cuts. It also tells you if they had a bit more money they would do something rather wonderful with it.” https://www.theguardian.com/…/arts-cont ribute-more-to-uk-ec…

Luke Underdown, Founder of Garage Coffee: ‘I find inspiration in many things, but I think what I love learning about the most is the farmers that are producing the coffee I sell. We take so many things for granted in this country, so to know that by buying their coffee it is literally making a huge difference, in such a simple way, is the most inspiring thing for me.’ From 30th April, #Gulbenkian will be working with Garage Coffee to bring their ethically-sourced, delicious coffee to our café. Wonderful evening last night watching silent films with live accompaniment. So glad I went as it was such a unique experience and Stephen Horne was a brilliant musician.

User

Went to a music show by the students for Rock Club in the theatre.

It was brilliant. They really put on a fabulous show. Like the tiered seating. Nice size hall for the acoustics from the music students. Nice little cafe out front with plenty of room. Tables and chairs or lounge space. Very impressed.

User

Visited with my young daughter to see The Tiger who Came to Tea. Fabulous venue and very child-friendly. The Gulbenkian provided an activity corner with colouring & Lego! Very welcoming & great customer service.

The family theatre productions are just fabulous. We’ve been coming to them for the last 3 years and they never disappoint. Coming again today after we accidentally booked for a different day and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Also seen comedians here, really great venue and would recommend to everyone!

User

The Autism Arts Festival was brilliant. Diverse in content and rich in debate/inspiration. Hope it becomes an annual event.

User

Lovely theatre. The performance was probably just the right length of time (Luna). Seats were great! Plenty of room. E23. Lovely friendly staff. It felt incredibly welcoming and homely x

User

Husband and I came to see Jason Byrne as always he is fantastic, I had tears rolling down my face with laughter. The theatre is great no restricted views and tickets were a reasonable price. I think we're fortune to have a venue like this so close to home.

User

Highly recommended.... Great value and top class performance

User

Great theatre good view, nice to be so close to the stage.

User

Great intimate venue with amphitheatre style seating so there isn’t a bad seat in the house. Saw Joe Lycett here tonight (who was hilarious!) but the staff at the venue were incredible. I attended the event in a wheelchair due to major surgery only a week ago. Staff were so friendly, considerate, polite & were so helpful in accommodating me & my needs. Cannot praise them enough. Thank you x

User

User

A wonderful place. I watched Cockfight last night with my husband. It was a wonderful show that made us giggle several times. The theatre was very warm making us feel at home. I can't wait to visit again.

User

We love the variety of comedy that there has been at the Gulbenkian this Autumn; the incredibly good value ticket prices; the intimate size of the theatre, and the closeness of the act to the audience.

User

Great evening with the Albion Christmas Band. Thank you xx

User

A great evening at a great price. Worth every penny

User

The comedian was amazing.

The place it's self was ok apart from the toilets weren't brilliant.

Plus we ordered drinks before the show for then and during the interval but they forgot a bottle of wine.

User

Followed directions for disabled car park, it was totally full ( not necessarily with disabled badged cars) so had to park further away. Then tried to access the theatre from the disabled car park: only way in was up steps!
