Just ordered some stock including the new Remington Air Rifles, looking forward to getting these tomorrow, supposed to be superb, especially at the price!

Hard day yesterday, traffic heavy and the run to West London doesn't get any easier with road works, constantly changing speed limits and lots of speed cameras. Still feeling exhausted today. Worth the trip though, picked up some SLR bits I needed and some more Bren barrels for deactivation. Long day..........

Just a reminder and further proof, NEVER handle old ordnance, old explosive becomes unstable. Note in this account the bomb had no fuse/detonator but still blew up whlle being handled taking the lives of two EOD sgt's and injuring two others, one seriously. If you are exploring the battlefields and come across old ordnance remember 'Ordnance here? Steer clear'. https://today.rtl.lu/news/luxembourg/1306 959.html…

Have a replacement van, just hope its as reliable as my old Iveco, it made it to 17 years old, and is going to have a long restoration by a new owner who will turn it into a camper van, so the geriatric will have a new life in semi retirement going away on holiday, which I am pleased about as it was a good van to us over the 15 years we owned it. funny how we get sentimental over vehicles ain't it :-)

User

So, Iveco van failed MOT terminally. Fit only for scrap and only two weeks to Stoneleigh. Long sigh...........

User

Going to be a long evening, deactivating Bren Barrels to take to proof soon, sigh

Well, here we are, another years end and a new one begins. Time to draw the line in the sand and step once more into whatever next year may hold in store: "I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year 'give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown'......" All the best to all of you for a Happy, content, peaceful and prosperous New Year.

User

We are now shutting down for Christmas. We wish all of our customers a wonderful Christmas, may Father Christmas, Sinta Klaas, Santa Claus or whoever your local equivalent is put everything under the tree that you have wished for, and we wish you a happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year.

Photo taken after Remembrance Service at our village church yesterday, to mark my Maternal Grandfathers's WW1 medals (Corporal and Acting Sgt Valentine 'Will' Van Den Dyck RGA) being worn for the first time in more than 80 years. Seemed appropriate on the 100th anniversary. He was wounded in the knee, mustard gassed (which he suffered from for many years afterwards) and shell shocked. Discharged 1919 for DAH (Disordered Action of the Heart, a symptom of PTSD). In treatment for shell shock in the mid 1930's. He signed up on the 12th August 1914 (as I recall from his record), he was born in London but his parents were Belgian living in Islington.................He was in his early 20's when he joined up but at his wedding in 1919 he looks nearly 50...........
My Paternal Grandfather's Medals are held by my Brother.

At 5.00am this morning the Armistice ending the fighting of WW1 was signed here at Compiegne in Marechal Foch's Carriage.it's duration was three months. Several more would be signed over the coming months until the final signing of the treaty of Versaille finally closed the book on WW1.

OK, so earlier than I expected, the Lewis and .30 BMG barrels are now in the web shop, links below. Before anyone starts querying the price, yes I know its high, but they are rare and we got a very small quantity of the Lewis barrels as there were not many and we have been told there are no more available (we have one more waiting to go to proof). Same applies to the Browning barrels, once they have gone, that's it. We are actively looking for more barrels but no joy so far, and they may be subject to the new marking regime which will mean people won['t want to export them. https://www.thegunner.net/ccp8/Item/Lewis _LMG-spare-barrel https://www.thegunner.net/ccp8/Item/30-bm g-barrel-deac

Here we go again, Labour now threatening inert ammunition, and as it doesn't specify max calibre size or 'Small Arms' I think it could also apply to shells and cartridge cases. Please get those letters in to your MP ASAP, they really DO make a difference, it was how the 2005 insanity was stopped.
The following clause (in blue below) has been tabled by Labour MP's. Much would depend on the interpretation/application but we consider that it potentially has implications for iner...t ammunition and ordnance. As previously, as an opposition amendment it may not have Government support to move it forward, but it still may worth a few moments of your time to email your MP. Louise Haigh

To move the following Clause—
“Possession of component parts of ammunition with intent to manufacture
(1) Section 1 of the Firearms Act 1988 is amended as follows—
(2) After subsection 4A insert—
(4B) A person other than a person permitted to manufacture ammunition by
virtue of being a registered firearms dealer or holder of a firearm
certificate authorising the type of ammunition being manufactured
commits an offence if—
(a) The person has in his or her possession or under his or her control
the component parts of ammunition and,
(b) The person intends to use such articles to manufacture the
component parts into ammunition.
