User

Went in the Hackney Carriage last night for a friends birthday, such a great place to get togethe and not too far from the station to stop off on the way home.

A lovely atmosphere and a friendly warm welcome.

All of the men enjoyed the different ales and having all the ciders is a great addition and was greatly enjoyed

Lovely place to pull up a stool and spend an evening, will def be going back soon.

User

Visited for the first time yesterday with the wife lovely atmosphere as well as a good selection of ales , ciders and wine as a fellow cabbie it's nice to see the memorabilia on the walls and we loved the bowler & top hat light shades had a nice chat with Mark & Liz too we will definitely be back and not just because Mark lent me a book that I need to return !!

User

Totally wonderful pub with great beer and friendly staff would highly recommend it.

User

Took a couple of friends for a Sunday lunchtime beer. Had a great time the beer was good, the cheese and biscuits on the bar a nice extra touch and the people are so friendly. A good time enjoyed by all of us.

User

Thank you to the Hackney Carriage for making my birthday great! We really struggle to find a decent pub in Sidcup and The Hackney ticks all the boxes. Great staff and a lovely crowd! The pink prosecco is a must try ;) x

My girlfreind and i were walking to the Black Horse for some food and came across this place yesterday so thought we would pop in on the way for a quick drink. Absolutely fantastic venue. The locals were so friendly we stayed for 4 before heading to the Black Horse. Upon entering the Black Horse it smelled discusting, was two deep at the bar with just two people serving. I went to the loo to find a teenager blatently doing drugs in front of me. It was a mess so walked straight out without even a beer and went back to the Hackney Carriage micro pub. We met the owners Liz and Mark who were so freindly we sat with them for another two hours. Upon telling them of our failed food trip they even offered to provide cutlery if we wanted to get food delivered. WOW- what hospitality.. Great selection of drinks for him and her. I will become a new regular. Exceptional service and experience. Please try this place. 5 out of 5 and i dont think i have ever been anywhere where the clientele and staff are so chatty.

User

Lovely friendly place we stumbled across as we was staying in sidcup for the night

Great beers, nice raspberry in prosecco & we would of filled the loyalist card if they was still open after we came out of the brilliant Indian jalsa next door

User

If you are a fan of real ale and good wine you must visit this new addition to the growing army of micro pubs in the area.

The Hackney serves great beers and wines combined with welcoming atmosphere, even my wife likes it here and she is not a great lover of pubs in general!

Great find and good luck for the future Lisa and Mark.

User

Great little place. No TV, no music, just good wine/beer/cider and the chance to have a chat. Prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly.

User

Great atmosphere, immaculate, trendy welcoming setting, great hostess and host, buzzing hive of people, modern but with a twist of old school. THE best gin and tonic I have tasted, served in lovely long expansive looking glass! Well done Liz! Just what Sidcup needed! You done amazing! Whether getting dressed up to meet friends or last minute you feel like a casual stroll and a drink it is PERFECT! x

User

Feels like a micropub during the day, and a wine bar in the evening when the London commuters call in for a drink after work. Excellent in either guise.

User

Fantastic addition. Lovely little find - enjoyed by both my boyfriend who loved the beers on offer, - d my grandmother who loved the atmosphere in side on a Saturday afternoon! Only potential improvement is more high quality nibbles (Eg cheese and meat board) as if there had been, we wouldn't have left after just an hour (to go for lunch), we would have stayed there!

User

Cracking micro great beers friendly people

User

Brilliant little pub, never any trouble and the ciders are out of this world, I'd recommend the mango, moonshine and fruit bat, all ridiculously tasty This has now become a regular for us on a Sunday. 100% recommend

User

Been here a few times now, always a good selection of excellent fresh ale. Great staff too.

User

been going there quite a while now..and consider it my local and favourite of any type of pub....but just starting to worry that it could lose its identity as a micro pub, as although it has always had a local gin and an English vodka..it then added a few more gins a few months back and on my latest visit a bottled lager and mojito cocktail.

It could now become just a trendy bar that will attract all sorts and lose its original patronage and identity, as well as aggravating customers when the lone bar staff has to mix a mojito or perhaps 4 or 5 at a time at the price of sale (5.50)...so dangerous waters...

these are just the ramblings of someone who loved it in simpler times..I am not a member of camra and do go out on both cocktail and gin nights...but to specialist places and not Berty Bassett bars...

I still will frequent it, hoping it finds its way again and doesn't fall foul of the lager louts...just saying!...and yes I do also drink lager..but never ever in a Micro Pub

User

Went in on the Cider trail huge selection of Ciders. Friendly staff nice space. Was very busy which for any pub is brilliant news but in turn made it very noisy inside. In my mind it doesn't fall inside the realms of a micro pub more of a Wine bar that sells Ale. Good luck with your venture but a £4 a pint it won't attract true Ale fans.

User

The gin is amazing. Coconut, lemon and raspberry I tried. Love the glasses they are served in. Lovely little place and been waiting to try for a while. Ended up being the night of their first anniversary so congrats X
