Went to watch England play in the world cup. Great atmosphere. Loads of TVs .lovely cold ciders and to top it off a lush carvery..great pub

We go every year to the Hairy dog when on our annual Butlins holiday, great place for food and drink

Lovely place, and the food was top notch. Staff were great especially the owners.

I visited here on 20th August with my grandson and some friends.fantastic play area .we didn't have food.but brilliant place with the large children's adventure play area.it kept grandson very happy.staff were lovely and helpful.we asked for bowl of water for our dog.which a lovely young barman got straight away.it is very dog friendly.will Deffinatly be going again.thank u.

Great place, lovely staff, lovely food, amazing outdoor area for kids of all ages. Highly recommend, cannot wait to return �

Excellent carvery, lots of vegetable choices. Probably the best carvery I have ever eaten. It all tastes very fresh.

Absoloutely loved our visit here today. Although, i would have love to slap on smile on the guy behind the bar � he had a bit of humour though after I found out he was a grumpy Scots man �� so I let him off.

Outdoor play was awesome for the little ones, and food was spectacular!

Went for a carvary on Mother's Day and I have to say it was delicious. Lots of different veg and the beef was very tender. We had children in our party so the outdoor play area was brilliant for them. Reading other reviews on here I also have to say I found a couple of the bar staff not overly friendly. In particular a guy of about 58 and a dark haired girl of 32. The young guy who served us our desert was very pleasant.

I think the desserts are slightly overpriced but are very nice.

Visited the hairy dog on a few occasions over the week , best meal was the carvery , found the chips this week a little over done , toilets needed a good clean , kids enjoyed playing outside ... been coming here for years when we stay in butlins ...

Good Food had Chicken & Chorizo Spaghetti which was delicious, excellent park for the kids. Only issue was lack of child sized cutlery. For a 2 year old the adult sized cutlery was way too big. Purchase children’s cutlery & you get 5*

Been here couple times and enjoy it, on a lovely hot day it nice to have a cold drink and let the kiddies play in the outside play area. Food ok but nothing special to shout about.

Popped in with my fiancé and 15 month old daughter. Can't say I was blown away, the sever behind the bar didn't appear overly friendly. The food was ok and the food was served very quickly, but I found my beans to be rather salty, my fiancé had spaghetti bolognaise which she said was nice and my daughter had jacket potato with cheese and beans ( which she ate a lot of ), look harder and you can see this place could be cleaner, cutlery is served in a generic plastic cutlery tray which from my experience stays out of customers eyes and also some of the cutlery had the previous persons food still present so this shows it hasn't been checked before going out to customers. We didn't stay much longer after we had all finished eating. Not bad but could be better.

Very expensive, just up the road is the duke of Wellington which is much better value,although there is an adventure park at the back for the kids but other than that be prepared to pay a lot of money,as far as I’m concerned expensive prices is what’s closing our pubs 😦

Fails basic food hygiene rules, hot fresh food on carvery constantly being dumped on top of old food that may have been there hours no rotation, the meat was cold, the Yorkshire puddings maybe from a packet were cold and most the other veg also cold or under cooked, tho 2 good points the potato’s were nice managed to pick out the fresh ones and the pay area for kids looked good, wouldn’t come back

The toilets were abosoulty disgusting ...bins overflowing used toilet paper and nappies on floor and when we told staff she shrugged her shoulders and said I know but we have been busy....

For a place that serves food it is unacceptable..food was rubbish but I think I was put off by our visit.. never again...

Served by what has to be the most miserable barmaid in the world, “Hanna”, one of the glasses was dirty, and instead of pouring a new drink, she tipped it from one glass to another, it was a large round, costing £50, a smile costs nothing
