Our guests enjoyed their stay so much they have made a film. They were out and about with their camera throughout their stay.

We love dogs here at The Headland - in fact one recent review said:
"As a dog-owner, the first question you ask of a hotel or B&B is: “What’s your policy on pets?” The Headland could answer: “We treat dogs like they’re Benedict Cumberbatch at a Sherlock convention”
With this in mind we wanted to share a few of our four-legged friends with you! Please do add any you may have of your pet in the comments - the comment with the most likes by next Friday will receive a voucher for... a complimentary Cream Tea for two!

We stayed here for the first time on Valentines night. The room was beautiful with an amazing sea view. We had a delicious evening meal followed by a very wide range of cocktails. Lots to choose from at breakfast the next morning, we had a walk around the beautiful surroundings before making use of the spa facilities. Everything in the spa was beautifully clean and well presented, a very calm, relaxing area. We didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back very soon.

We had the most amazing stay. Staying in both the hotel for a night and then onto a cottage.

The staff are AMAZING and every single member was so friendly, remembering where we'd been for the day, asking how it was and generally chatting to us. Nothing was too much trouble and it made the stay so enjoyable.

A huge thanks for making the kids feel so at home too, spending time talking to them and making them comfortable in new surroundings.

Highly recommend a cottage stay for families.

User

We had lunch (3 of us), a spur of the moment thing and luckily they could accommodate us.

The hotel is beautiful. Wonderful sumptuous surroundings, lovely attention to detail.

The staff were great, really friendly and helpful. The food was gorgeous.

We had a fantastic view of the beach from our table and the sun was out too.

What’s not to love?!

An overall fabulous experience!

User

This place was probably the best hotel I have stayed in the Uk in. The staff were so nice all of them they treated us with so much courtesy and it’s so clean there as well the views are amazing and food is great will definitely be coming back

User

This is the most wonderful place to go for a well deserved break. The views are stunning, rooms are top class, food is exquisite and service is second to none. The hotel is also extremely child and dog friendly. Perfect in every way. One of my favourite places in the uk.

User

The hotel was extremely accommodating when I visited today for afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday, despite not advertising a vegan option the chefs created me a beautiful spread including delicate sandwiches, vegan sweet treats and light fluffy scones complete with coconut cream. Very grateful and impressed with the trouble they went to.

User

Thank you to all the staff at The Headland Hotel for their outstanding service and welcome to my family and friends last weekend. Wonderful food from the restaurant and offered an exclusive room for my birthday evening meal. Nothing was too much trouble and hope to be back again before too long.

User

Our first time here but it won’t be our last. Fabulous hotel, first class staff and dog friendly too. The spa is beautiful and everywhere is so well looked after and clean. The rooms are gorgeous and our dog enjoyed himself just as much as we did.

User

My husband and I stay here every year. The staff are friendly, welcoming and go above and beyond. The rooms have stunning views of the sea and Fistral Beach, I'd recommend ordering your evening meal through room service so you can eat with the view! The rooms are very clean and full of nice surprises (yummy fudge for example!) You get complimentary use of the Spa facilities with the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna - we accidentally spent a total of over 8 hours in there during our stay! Love our stay every year!

User

I just had the best salad I have ever had and can’t imagine how you can make a salad taste as truly outstanding as this was. My husband had a fish and chip supper which he rated much better than Rick Steins and to add to the food is the location itself but the staff were all so friendly and helpful that I couldn’t fault it whatsoever

Top marks

User

I have been visiting for the past 25 years, the staff are really friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home in the hotel. In particular David and Ben were really conscious in there services over the weekend.

Thanks again to all staff at the Headland👍

User

Excellent hotel. The spa was perfect and the restaurant food first class, staff very attentive we requested a cheese plate although it wasn’t on the menu they made one up especially. Our first wedding anniversary and the room was prepared for us with its four poster bed and scattered rose petals champagne, balloons and fruit and of course incredible views of the ocean absolutely priceless.

User

As with all reviews, the stars of this place are the staff. I can't praise them highly enough, they are genuinely caring/interested/helpful/proud. I feel sorry for people who don't take dogs! Biscuits, blankets, bowls, mats and poo bags in the room and a genuine affection from everyone who came over to greet our dogs.

We received an upgrade to our room and a birthday card and balloon on arrival which was a nice touch. A couple of niggles..... spa was out of body wash/shampoo and we were kept waiting for over 10 minutes for our treatment whilst the girls stood chatting. I heard them discussing the details on the form we had filled in which wasn't pleasant. Rassoul room didn't feel as clean as it could be.

Guided tour of the hotel was lovely (I would have liked to see a couple of different rooms to see what we might upgrade to next time).

Would I come back again? In a heartbeat!

User

Another beautiful day spent with family and friends from Canada and Worcestershire. Was a bit of a misty day but that didn’t dampen our day! Just hope they all managed to get down to Port Issac today and the sun is shinning as it is here in Tavistock.

User

Perfect place with a young family! We stayed in one of the great seaview cottages. The hotel recommended us a local babysitter, who we used for two nights. Great spa, fabulous views and bar and great staff! The local Rick Stein take away also helped with our needs. Booked already again for next June.

First impressions count and unfortunately when it’s the beginning of the school holidays and you have driven 8 hours and can’t check into your room (which I accept), but told you can use facilities then you go to the indoor pool and children have ‘set’ times which are until 11am then not until 3pm (after check in basically) but we can let the kids in the cold outdoor pool that has a toilet, but no sink or changing room (we haven’t checked in remember) then no the first impression for paying this sort of money per night is a pretty poor one. My children are not dogs and know how to behave, they have been to very exclusive hotels in various countries and never has their been a sign unwelcoming them in a pool for four hours of the day! its School holiday time so either you are a family friendly hotel or your not .... so far id say not.

User

Arrived at the Headland at 4pm and informed there is an hour and a half wait on food! Ridiculous! We frequent this place on a regular basis, what a disappointment. I’ll take my regular custom elsewhere in future.

User

Yesterday we spent the afternoon in the pool then a meal and drinks in The Terraces. I ordered the Mushroom Tagatelie, it was hot and tasty, two twists on my fork then I noticed a long hair tucked into the tagatelie. The waitresss apologised and took it away. 10 mins later she brought my food back which was cold, and I can only presume it was the same dish of food with the hair removed. My husband had finished his meal. The waitress apologised again and said I would not be charged for this meal. If the chef is going to send out the same plate of food again at least he should make sure the food is hot. Made me feel sick. Don’t think I will be eating here again, but the pool was lovely and clean.

User

When we married here 11years ago, the waitress dropped a large bowl of stinking mustard down my wedding dress!! Returning on our anniversary, it seems little has changed. Still grumpy waitresses who can’t cope with a busy hotel. Hour and a half wait on food, hour on drinks. Gave up in the end. Very disappointing.
