What a lovely evening! My husband used to live in this 'pub' many years ago and we were doing a memory lane trip around the area. The owner was really welcoming and showed him around. The food was delicious and even our 'terrible two' toddler enjoyed his dinner. Apologies for the broken pepper mill at the end of the evening! We will definitely be back when we visit the area again.

Went for Sunday lunch, a big family meal. Absolutely gorgeous food, lovely inside, good choice on the menu and chef was lovey too!

We ate here tonight with our two children, the service was great, atmosphere relaxing, and as for the food it was extremely tasteful. My husband is quite the critic, yet he was well impressed with the prawn and chorizo skewer, and curry lamb and chutney Burger. The kids had some chicken and chips and throughly enjoyed it. Would recommend it, if you would like a tasty meal.

We all enjoyed our evening in your lovely, cosy & friendly pub. Our group of 5(?6�) all enjoyed the steak night option- yummy! The Prosecco weren’t too bad either� Thanks.x

The delicious food is only surpassed by the kind and attentive staff. We will definatly return to try out some more of the tempting menu.

Thank you so much to all the lovely staff that looked after us today and made us feel so welcome. A large table of 11 with 5 children we were so well looked after. The food was amazing compliments to the chef � and the children's meals were excellent. The Sunday roasts were delicious and the trio of meats is a must! Our new favourite place when we come to visit!

My Aussie friend and I (a Kiwi) were in town for a 9 mile swim at Ellerton Lake. We stumbled across this place on Friday night and LOVED the food, the ambience and the owners so much, we booked a table for our hungry selves for the Saturday night after the swim. We even dreamt about it during our tough swims thinking what we were going to order. Thanks so much Pub Mum and Adrian for making us so welcome. See you next year - The Downunder Girls!

Lovely good and friendly staff . We went cos we were just passing through on our way back from somewhere and was very pleasantly surprised. We would definitely go again if we was in the area .

Love this place, we had a great stay and great food. But best of all was that the staff couldn't do enough for us.

I've drank in the Hefier a number of times and it's always been a friendly, buzzing family venue.

Recently we had dinner with some friends and the food was outstanding, specifically the Black pudding scotch egg starter. Generous portions and attentive staff mean't our night was lovely and we'll be coming back again without a doubt.

Dog friendly too! What else can you ask for!

I went to The Heifer for the second time last week after having fantastic food and service on a previous visit. I was so pleased that it was just as brilliant the second time around! The food was utterly delicious and everyone was just so friendly. There was a group of four of us and we all had the black pudding and scotch egg starter which was extremely tasty. We all then had different main courses and I could have eaten each and every one of them. Love the fact that the spirits (gin) were local! Will definitely be coming back.

Having driven through Scorton many times we have never really stopped. However we were turned away by our usual restaurant in Hurworth due to it being so busy. So decided to call in. The guy serving was lovely very professional and great to talk to. Overall Great food and service , we will be back...

Food is excellent, staff are very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend Burger night (Sunday) and Sunday lunch. This is the place to eat!

Fabulous resteraunt pub, the owners are friendly & very welcoming, the food is glorious really gets your taste buds. Once you have been you will keep going back!!!
