About The Highfield House
The Highfield House is one of Yorkshire’s finest Grade II listed buildings now open as a wedding and event venue in the heart of Driffield.
The Highfield House Description
Highfield House is one of Yorkshire’s finest Grade II listed buildings.
The striking Elizabethan styled Arts and Crafts home has a rich and varied history which dates back to the early 1800’s. It has served under many guises from a windmill to a lavish country home, an Army base to a memorable country club. It has housed philanthropists, visionaries, villains and Aristocrats. It has grown and shrunk, been re-imagined, remodeled and reformed. It has been penned, painted and publicized by famous architects, modern artists and film makers.

THE GROUNDS.
Whilst central to Driffield, Highfield House stands in a totally private oasis. A terracing of seven acres of mature lawns, woodlands, waterfalls and weirs, this picturesque setting fully encloses the grand house with a prize winning and protected arboretum with specimen trees soaring high and over 250 years old.
The house and church are framed beautifully on the picturesque stately lawns and house terraces, an elegant backdrop and perfect setting for formal parties of up to 350 people.
The Woodland lawns run down to the weir, waterfalls woodland walks and bridges, and whilst further from the house this secluded area enjoys a relaxed natural ambiance for parties of up to 250 people.
Each event can enjoy full exclusive use of the entire grounds, private parking and pre event set up access.
In order to maintain the high standards of the House and ensure a hassle free experience for all we have hand selected a number of suppliers and familiarized them with all requirements – please see our suggestions below.
The grounds are now open for bookings for 2016-2017.
From 2018 onwards all bookings will combine both the House and Grounds.

DRIFFIELD: the beautiful Driffield has been voted 5th best place in the North to live - we have had the pleasure of @bbclooknorth and @bbcradiohumberside up at the house today to talk to them about our story and the love and pride that we have for where we live! @ The Highfield House
HOUSE FLOWERS: Blossom looks great in tall long lengths, it will make for quite a dynamic arrangement but the trick is to keep it simple and not add too many other pieces to it. We use a 500mm high tall vase with spray oasis hidden in the top to hold it in place. It also looks great as smaller posey table pieces. It doesn’t last long but it gives a truly beautiful feeling spring.
MEET PHYLLIS: Chief house flower arranger, Business events coordinator, organiser of the friends of Highfield, Andy’s mum, retired teacher, skilled seamstress and housekeeper. Phyllis used to teach Home Economics and is a fabulous cook. She has helped to create the curtains and soft furnishings that help make Highfield so beautiful.
Phyl also keeps the house ship-shape from day to day. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she goes out of her way to welcome our guests and make their stay as comfortable as possible, with her warm, comforting personality. Today is a garden day so Phyllis is out finding the most beautiful flowers and greenery from the garden to put together the stunning house flower arrangements....
BLOSSOMS: we are celebrating the beautiful blossoms in the house today. Phyllis is out in the gardens collecting for our house flower displays...
THE SHOW: we started our Lunar parties so that we, the family, could all let loose, show off and have fun. We have had a great response so far and will be continuing in the summer with much much more... We aim to surprise, delight and to put on the most incredible evenings - if you have been and have any comments do let us know.... if you haven’t made it yet do keep an eye on our Facebook and insta pages for more news.
