What a little gem hidden away in uckfield. Went yesterday to celebrate a family birthday. Food was amazing - I recommend the Sunday roast and very generous portions. There was also a big bouncy castle to keep the little ones entertained. Will definitely be going back.

We went for Sunday lunch as a family group of 10. The spacing of the tables is cleverly done in The Highlands, you don't ever feel too close to other diners. The roast dinners were excellent, the portions were good too but hubby did think the Hunters Chicken a touch dry. The service we received from Lizzie was friendly and efficient, and we will be back.

We popped in after traveling home from holiday...was not disappointed...we both had the fish platter. Wow what a plate just what we needed. The staff were attentive and jolly..Thank you.. slept well that night...

We drive over from brighton for the lovely food, always great service from start to finish! Would highly recommend!

User

Really great service ... attentive but not too "in your face" .. Food was good and tasty pub fair and a decent amount of it ... my only one criticism would be I'd like to of seen a Chablis or Viogioner on the wine list .. but this is being just a bit unfair for your standard pub. Great overall.. will come again .

Lovely evening with friends enjoying the patio with loads of starters to share. Sarah always welcoming and friendly.

I've been to two Christmas meals here - on the 14th Dec in a party of 18 and again on 22nd, just 3 of us. Good enough menu choice to have totally different meals. Service was good and pleasant. Food was very good, served together and hot. Several wines at a reasonable price. Well done all at the highlands.

User

Beautiful sirloin steak and chunky chips. Really enjoyed it. Also a gluten free menu for my partner, he chose gammon and chips. Was advised they could make him saute potatoes in case of cross contamination. He was impressed. Food perfect and excellent service. Wish we lived closer, but we will be back.

User

Another wonderful meal! I feel so lucky this is our local. Great food and most importantly some space to breathe. Not all packed in like sardines.

User

Went for an impromptu, first time visit, Monday lunch so didn't expect it to be full but was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few tables busy, giving the place a nice buzz. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious, with big portions. Very reasonably priced too. Will be going back again

We love this place. Great variety in the menu and great value.

We first booked a week before for six people and added two extra with a phone call mid week. Sadly a table of 6 was provided on our arrival.

It was soon dealt with and panic avoided, but this kind of error is pretty elementary.

Great staff and venue.

Was here last night (19/5/17). Food choice is good, food very nice - however we had to wait a long time for our food, too long in my opinion, and had to ask for both jugs of water at least twice before we actually got them. It was very busy last night which makes the dining room very noisy which possibly explained the delay with the food, however they know how many tables are booked and the number of people eating so should allow for this. Cannot fault the food in any way.

It wasn’t too crowded for a Saturday lunchtime, staff were attentive & helpful to my families various dietary needs. The portions were massive very glad I didn’t order a starter or couldn’t have ate all my main! the fried halloumi was lovely. The whole place had a nice warm atmosphere, will definitely eat here again next time I’m in Uckfield.

User

Always a good meal and a great Team of staff. Wish we could get a few dark Ales (guest or Harvey’s) getting bored with a pint of Sussex Best - even if it is a damn good pint.

User

stopped for a beer and a sandwich, very nice, a little overpriced
