We have just spent three days at the Hogs Head Inn for a wedding at the Treehouse in Alnwick and we could not have stayed anywhere better, the accommodation is absolutely superb, the food is fantastic and lots of it, all the staff have been amazing and so friendly we did not want for anything, A perfect location to explore Northumberland. Many many thanks to everyone there. ¤śĆ¤śĆ¤śĆ

User

Just off the A1 at Alnwick well worth a visit food delicious, very good and fast service and very nice And spacious

User

Have been visiting with my family for many years now and we just keep going back. Food is lovely and although a little pricey you get a fantastic offer with their winter deal where a 2 course meal is included in the room price. ItŌĆÖs location is just perfect for exploring the beautiful Northumberland countryside. Staff are so friendly and welcome us back with smiles each time we go. The room is fab, comfortable and warm. What more could you ask for. Thank you to everyone at the Hogs Head ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

User

Great place to stay. Lovely large comfortable beds in large rooms, great food especially the full buffet breakfast, friendly and helpful staff . We really enjoyed our one night stay and wished we could have stayed longer.

User

Fantastic place to stay , rooms very large and clean , staff were very friendly and efficient and to top it off the food was excellent ! I would highly recommend the place to anyone !

User

Excellent Sunday Carvery Lunch; well cooked and seasoned; fresh vegetables, real Yorkshire puddings and real tasty gravy. You can't get much better anywhere - I've tried.

The place is spotlessly clean and spacious too.

User

Brilliant staff! (Didn't get a name but young lady, dark hair, pony tail, worked late wed and early Thursday). Very helpful, sorted our food when we had to rush to a local wedding and remembered our request when we walked through the door. She also checked us out in the morning in about 2 seconds!! Thank you, you made our stay a pleasant one. The food was lovely too. We will be returning ’┐Į (Photographers x2)

User

The rooms are fantastic .the staff were great and the food was excellent.

If you are travelling with children it is really difficult to secure a cot as they do not do this as standard. My room was very near to the entrance for the residents and was noisy until the early hours of the morning. The bar shuts at 11.00pm and there are no facilities to have a drink for residents after that

User

Hotel lovely but situated between A1 and a large garage so can be noisy if not used to traffic noise. Wasn't a problem for me. Spacious comfortable rooms although a bit cold. Free wifi and Excellent customer service especially from the young man who checked us all in and worked the bar and breakfast the following morning. Evening meal from set menu very disappointing and I didn't eat much if mine. Nobody queried if it was ok or offered any alternative. However the most shocking thing was being charged ┬Ż32.95 for a bottle of Prosseco. Haven't paid that much even in central London.

User

Absolutely delicious food and amazingly quick service, hotel room was spacious, would have liked a socket near the bed but that wonŌĆÖt stop me coming back here again.

User

We used this place as a central meeting point to exchange Christmas presents with family members and to have a meal and a catch up. Although the menu had a good selection, there were no healthy options. I did ask at the bar but I only got a list of the ingredients for the items on the menu (good if you suffer from food allergies). After our meal we were unable to finish with Lattes as the coffee machine was broken. Several of our family don't like filter coffee - the only option available. The food we were served was tasty

User

Stayed at the Hogs Head the hotel is nicely decorated downstairs. The Christmas decorations are really nice. The bedrooms are a decent size. Sadly my room was quite cool even though the heating was turned to maximum. The beds were huge but there was no extra bedding. I also found the rooms very dark even with all the lamps switched on. The rooms were nicely presented. The Prosecco was ┬Ż32 a bottle, more expensive than London! The evening meal wasnŌĆÖt great, you didnŌĆÖt get a lot for the money paid. I enjoyed my breakfast more than the meal I had the evening before. On a positive note the staff were helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble.

User

Not one for complaining go all the time when we go to alnwick but dissappointed with the food this time. Food warm served on a cold plate didnt take long for food to go cold .staff still very helpfull.

.

User

Food tasted fine but I ordered venison. If you count 4 slices of meat as a main for ┬Ż14 youŌĆÖre wrong. It was basically a plate of potatoes. I wouldnŌĆÖt usually write a negative public review but I gave feedback at the time but nothing was done nor even a apology. The chef knows your steak is too small when he slices it n spreads it across the plate

User

Would have more than just 2* if the plugs next to the beds had actual plug holes and not circular? What? What is this? Why do I want to use my own plugs at the complete opposite end of the room and the lamps by are some very strange not even European plugs?

Service by humans is brilliant but plugs is an absolute joke.

User

We came for Sunday lunch a few months ago and thought it was lovely. I booked for a night of relaxing with my fianc├® and had to remind staff on arrival that is paid an extra ┬Ż30 for a bottle

Of prosseco in the room. When we sat for our evening meal the main was not

Nice and had to return it. They did take it off the bill but I went without dinner. We also had a room

Next to someone with a dog that barked all night so needless to say ┬Ż250 was a lot for a non relaxing night ¤śö

User

Overpriced!! ┬Ż3.70 for a Pineapple and Lemonade.... ┬Ż2.70 for the pineapple juice and ┬Ż1 for a shot of lemonade!?

Had Gammon & Chips to eat, which was ok.... had it been on a 2 for ┬Ż8 menu in a Wetherspoons......

Certainly wonŌĆÖt be back!

User

Myself husband and 2 little girls visited the Hogs Head inn Sunday 26th November, we glanced at the menu and decided what we would like.

Let me start with the positive the food was delicious and couldnŌĆÖt fault the staff.

My husband opened a tab that I paid off after our lovely meals and left, when I got in the car I looked at the recipt and thought ┬Ż6.95 for a childŌĆÖs fish and chips was rather steep with no drink included ect, so I went online and looked at menus and surely enough it states ┬Ż6.95, however this is meant to include a starter and a desert, which at no point we were made aware of or offered.

I feel very let down and a little ripped off by this as paid ┬Ż7.80 for 1 childŌĆÖs meal and a drink (cordial and soda)

I regret to say after how lovely the food was that I would hesitate to return again paying prices like this for 1 x childŌĆÖs main course and a drink and not being offered any thing else that we had obviously missed.

User

Just had a stinking meal. Sent our duck starter back. Everyone ordered ciabatta - chips were cold, beef was tasteless, steak was cold and chewy and gravy was just warm water. "Sorry about that" was staffs response. Duck was removed from the bill but due to the fact we were starving and in a rush we ate the rest and ran. Staff couldnt be less interested! Had a fab meal a few months ago but we won't be back again. Yuk!
