Yoga is for everyone.
The aim of this workshop is to help you cleanse and reboot your body and mind after the darker seasons. Energise ~ We will begin the afternoon with a flowing, energising sequence to awaken the body. Detox ~ We work through specific postures that focus on stretching, twisting and compressing your digestive system and stimulating your elimination organs to allow for maximum release of internal toxins.... Breathe ~ Pranayama (breathing techniques) is another wonderful way to cleanse not only the body, but the mind. We will work through a basic yet powerful method to bring your entire system into balance. Relax ~ We will close our practice with some beautiful restorative postures, drawing focus inwards and away from external events and stresses. A guided meditation will end our workshop. With yummy fresh smoothie to wash it all down with!
Details: Sunday 3rd February 12:30pm-3pm @ Woodside Medical Centre, Haydock, St Helens
Investment: * Regular Registration: £20 -- Space is limited

What happens when we remove all expectations of ourselves and others? Is it a good thing? Don’t we need expectations to gain respect, affection, intimacy from others and oneself? I think it’s about standards and not expectations. Setting expectations is like entering a situation ‘knowing’. We lose the opportunity to experience the nuances that make that experience unique if we hold expectations of ‘knowing’ what will happen. Learning to set process goals instead of outcome... goals, learning we all could be wrong sometimes, that we all need be open to change. We need to remove unrealistic expectations of ourselves too by accepting who we are, flaws and all. See each and every experience like from a child’s eye. Every single experience, even if it is similar to one previous experience will always appear new to us. In reality no two are ever the same, so to move into this experience or respond, with an expectation is unrealistic. With a level of respect and integrity, allow your Self and others to be. It removes the ego and the need to control. Free yourself and free others. Stop judging and stop expecting 🙏🏼

Our senses respond to feelings. Make sure you surround yourself with good vibes, fill the mind with positive thoughts. The only voice you will ALWAYS hear is your own, so speak kindly to yourself ❤️🙏🏼✨

Before and after...➡️ See, I’m not always flexible. I have a lot of people saying to me that I practice/teach yoga because I’m flexible. That’s not always been the case and even now, that’s not the case. I haven’t practiced for a month really now and this was my first practice with before and afters. I chose the splits to demonstrate, not because splits are functional but because they can be dangerous! If the body is not warmed up properly and invited to open in a decent pra...ctice, we can cause all kinds of problems! I don’t fancy a hip replacement at 50! So, my point is this...I’m not flexible all of the time. My practice, when thorough and consistent encourages my body to open. To open with sthira sukha...strength with ease. I don’t force my body, I invite it to open. Respect, love, trust and listen to your body. After all, it’s your carriage through life itself ❤️🌱 #selflove #selfcare

So Christmas is over and the decorations have been packed away. We’re a week into the new year and two of my three children have already had their birthdays. A busy month, with lots of exciting things in store for the year ahead. Now is the time to stay grounded and practice self care 🙏🏼❤️

Despite her battle wounds, she remained standing strong, ready to give and ready to receive. A true warrior, she recognised that the physical form, the ego was superficial, her true self, her atman safe from harm within 🙏🏼

Invalidation - whether it be by judgment, hoovering, minimising, denying, misunderstanding or simply wanting to fix their feelings...it’s important to recognise that when most share their feelings, all they need is validation. Remember validation is not about lying or agreeing with the persons feelings, it’s about accepting someone else’s internal experience as valid and understandable. A Powerful tool to have 🙏🏼❤️ helping to remove boundaries and distance ✨with others and self
