The Hopper'S Hut Micropub Sidcup Description
‘The Hopper’s Hut’
Did you know that around 100 years ago Foots Cray, Sidcup and Bexley was covered in hop fields? Present in the locality were a
number of simple buildings which were used by hop pickers during the harvest. These were known as ‘Hopper’s Huts’ hence our
proposed ‘micro-pub’ name.
What is a ‘micro-pub’?
A ‘micro-pub’ is a modern take on the traditional simple alehouse concept serving great beer and even better conversation.
The concept is aimed at a specialist customer base and differs significantly from the larger scale pub chains. The development
will see the premises redesigned to incorporate a public seating area at the front of the premises leading on to the serving
area and cold room for real-ales at the back of the area on the ground floor.
We propose to serve a range of real ales from casks, kegs, bottles and cans produced by local and national brewers including
Bexley’s very own 'Bexley Brewery' and 'Brew Buddies' from nearby Swanley Village. We will also stock a selection of Kent produced
wines and soft drinks. We will not be selling any form of draft lager, spirits, liquors, cocktails or other alcohol / mixed drinks such
as ‘alco-pops’.
There will be no televisions, music, fruit or other gaming machines.

We caught the Sat night of the winter beer festival. Great beers, great service, great night.
The Hoppers Hut has a great range of ales, stouts & ciders also wine, it has a great atmosphere the staff are very helpful & pleasant. If you like good beer I recommend you give this little micro brewery a try �
Started and ended our night here last night. Great little pub. Nice staff and punters. Thoroughly recommend it...and the Cloudwater IPA...ooof�
Second through the door and warm welcome received. Great selection of ales. Well worth the visit.
Great for us that it's in walkable distance door to door!
Nice knowledgeable chap who allows To taste before you buy.. A surprise for hubby as he was pleased hope you do well and get your full.licence soon
Lovely little pub with friendly staff and fellow punters.
Lovely friendly atmosphere and great range of beers and other tasty beverages available. Hope this place gets its full licence. They deserve it and Sidcup needs it.
Lively place and even child friendly with plenty of games to keep them occupied. Food a lovely added bonus too
Just what is needed in Sidcup - lovely. Great atmosphere, a friendly welcome and of course a good choice of beers and wines. We will be back - thank you.
Hat a lovely friendly and fun bar. ALL staff were very happy and delightful. Great independent labels too, specialist gins �
Great place to drink and socialise, staff friendly and knowledgeable about to the beers, especially the older staff that work on Sundays. Lovely people.
Great little micropub :-) great beets and cider had a 9.1% stout delicious but dangerous
Great little micro pub this. I turned up yesterday before opening time but the lovely staff let me in anyway while they were putting up the rather impressive Christmas decorations. I enjoyed a couple of excellent cask ales and incinerated my throat with habanero pork scratchings while watching them hang the rather impressive Christmas decorations. You’ll get a warm welcome in here ��
Frequented this place on a few occasions. Always enjoyed it. They do a Camembert cheese board for £6. Absolutely spot on.
First visit today. What a great place. We a had a great pint and good conversation with the lady behind the bar, Susie and some of the other customers. We will be back �
Excellent place if you want to get some great Beers and the service is fantastic and a very clean and friendly place to go to. It is a very quiet and friendly place.
Excellent micro pub just up the road from me in Sidcup. If I didn’t have a small child I would be there trying all the beers all the time!
