We have just called in for an evening meal, the welcome and service from Leon was simply the best, all staff so young but all seem well mannered and polite, food to die for and again nothing was too much trouble, triple chocolate brownie that was the best weŌĆÖve ever eaten, how nice to find a place that is so tastefully renovated,selling good wholesome food and variety, Please Keep up the good work xxxx

Sister venue to our wedding venue and enquired at short notice during the new year period for a booking of 30+ mid Jan for our ten year old.



Jade couldnŌĆÖt have been more helpful and even added up the seats needed for me as texts confirming attendance came through as we were speaking!!



Fabulous venue, fabulous surroundings and extremely polite , helpful and informative staff. ... well done Jade, I spent ten years in the hospitality trade and it takes a lot for me to leave a review so positive.



Fingers crossed for the day yet can still recommend this Inn no matter what .

Myself and my husband stayed over last night arrived just after 2pm had a 2 course meal for ┬Ż12.50 from the lunch menu and we honestly couldn't fault it the plum dessert was to die for the staff are all young but very friendly and professional the room we had was large and very clean with a really large bed we will definitely return and would recommend it

Just returned after a couple of nights stay. The rooms are very good, clean, airy and fairly comfortable. I say fairly, as I do think they ought to put a couple of easy (bucket) chairs and a small table in the rooms. Wanting to watch TV was not a good experience sitting on a tiny stool or on the bed (Bad backs!!!) Room service is offered, so eating that would be very difficult.

The bathroom could have done with a couple of hooks for clothes or washbag, but everthing was so up-to-date we have taken away ideas for when we revamp ours :)

Ate two breakfasts, one evening meal and a snakette. All were very very acceptable. Hot and tasty.

Also loved the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. Nothing was too much and they were all very cheerful.

So hope the event we attended happens again next year as we would not hesitate to book again.

Just had a wonderful stay for New Year's Eve, the rooms are of a good quality and immaculate.

Had a very nice meal in the restaurant, and a great atmosphere for the new year.

Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and very they were all very friendly and welcoming, it was a very busy evening but it was very efficiently handled.

The whole place has a warm friendly feel about it, I will definitely be booking to go back.’┐Į

Jus got back after a two night stay with nice, romantic setting. Staff friendly and can't do enough to please you. Clean, modern and trendy. Loved every minute. Food was excellent and very filling. Room was lovely and the bed and shower to die for!! Would definitely recommend it and will definitely going back at some point. Thank you Horse and Jockey for making it so memorable.

I came today and I really enjoyed it. The whole staff was very welcoming. I used to come in here when I was 8 years old. I love the refurbishment and everything about it. My cousin came with me too @[736303782:Samantha Seaton] the chips and cheese was spot on ’┐Į I will deffo come back again.

Had a fab meal here for my dad's birthday recently. One meat eater, one veggie and two vegan all catered for brilliantly. Can't recommend this place highly enough to any vegans out there. Separate menu with lots of choice. Compliments to the chef and great service by all the staff. Thank you. We will definitely be back ’┐Į’┐Į

We enjoyed a (last minute) booking for my daughter's 16th Birthday and our experience was 5* - Clear, friendly communication over the phone, attentive service throughout (including making my VERY fussy son happy!), the food was excellent and presented beautifully.... a pint of sauce next time please!!

Erm...A slightly sharper knife would have been great (I didn't ask for one),

The entrance door catches on a tile and our evening passed far too quickly!!

Excellent food - very impressed with all the food served for a group of walkers yesterday at lunch time. Well worth a visit and a stop for food!

Easily the best meal I've had in years. I had the vegan freekah and my friend had the blade of beef. Food for all diets and done to perfection

We weren't disappointed either both in the main menu and the purely vegan menu...loads of choice, not the normal falafel and salad offering.

Came for a bite to eat, the lady in charge ( I'm sorry not sure her name) could not do enough for us, so welcoming, my lad was offered some garlic bread free, as he only wanted chips, the food was truly delicious and all staff friendly, def be back thanks so much

A faultless nights stay at horse and jockey. Stayed for one night and room totally faultless , lovley comfy bed ... shower awesome with rain shower and toiletries and nice towels supplied, booked a Sunday Xmas roast and invited some nearby relatives . Could not fault our meal ... so much meet and plenty of veg lovley huge Yorkshire pud . We ordered xtra roast potatoes but honestly had no need to as we really did have so much food , cauliflour cheese was good too , . Our starters were lovley and likewise our deserts .... staff all very young but these guys n girls certainly could do their job well .. A beautiful cooked breakfast the next day too and this place is immaculate ... We will be returning even though it's 400 mile round trip ... well done staff at Horse and Jockey . ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

We have just spent the night here. We arrived at about 2.30 in the afternoon, had a few beers & a sandwich, which was very good, they had my favourite beer on tap. Bud & many other lagers to choose fro. The football was on which was an added bonus. We went to our room which was large & airy, immaculately clean, decent bathroom fittings, large shower & a corner basket that was big enough to put shampoo & conditioner in without it falling out. The bar area was lovely & you could see a lot more f thought had been put in to this pub, the decor was modern & light, the toilets immaculate, more thought with hooks on the back of the toilet doors for handbags & coats, rather than a n the floor. The staff were all fairly young but very polite & helpful. The big fight was on the TV & the pub was full. I feel the only thing that let it down was the meal we had, ┬Ż25 for a steak that was over cooked & quite thin, though the breakfast was very nice. Overall a very enjoyable stay, would definitely stay here again.

We came Christmas Eve the food was ok but the service was quite poor. We was put in the basement not sure why as there was plenty of tables free... we got forgot about to the point where we ordered drinks and they never arrived when my boyfriend come to the bar to ask for them he was served by a rude lady. Quite disappointing as the white heart is normally excellent.

Very poor effort tonight. Advertising showing Derby vs Cardiff tonight. Paid for a meal for my motherŌĆÖs birthday. Can only show Derby on a small screen which we couldnŌĆÖt see from our table so I told them it wasnŌĆÖt worth it as everyone else wanted to watch another game. Food was good.
