About The Hub Liverpool

If you’re looking for an establishment that combines the buzz of a city centre bar with the friendly feel of a rural gastropub, then The Hub Alehouse and Kitchen is the place for you.

The Hub Liverpool Description

True to its name, this welcoming grade-II-listed pub is a hub for the local community and visitors alike, and its close proximity to the city’s shops and attractions makes The Hub popular with visitors enjoying all the delights that Liverpool has to offer. Inside, the decor is a unique blend of the modern and the traditional, and offers plenty to look at while you’re enjoying a pint – there is an impressive copper brewing vessel sitting by the bar, and the traditional copper pots, pans and cooking utensils hanging from the ceiling contrast with modern, chunky wooden furniture.

The home-cooked fare on offer at The Hub is made using the best ingredients sourced from local suppliers in the city, as well as from farms across Cheshire. The lunch and dinner menus offer everything from light bites, pizzas and nibbles to classic pub dishes and innovative mains. The delicious fish pie, the ever-popular braised oxtail and the fantastic 16oz T-bone steak will delight even the most discerning foodies, and are even better when enjoyed with one of The Hub’s well-chosen wines, cask ales or classic cocktails. To finish, try the sherry fruit trifle with hundreds and thousands – it’s one of the many traditional puddings available at The Hub, and is a real treat for diners with a sweet tooth. Those with a more savoury palate will love the rustic cheeseboard, which features, among others, the delicious Mrs Appleby’s Cheshire Red and the Owd Timer Lancashire.

Met up with old friends on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm and as usual the place was packed but it didn't put you off the atmosphere was fab with Christmas just round the corner. We took advantage of the jugs of cocktails and the set Christmas menu and it was amazing 😍😍😍 plates were piled high and piping hot food delicious and staff very attentive for such a busy place 😍 Highly recommended x

User

Enjoyed the meal staff were lovely. Nice size portions but a very small amount of ice cream to go on dessert.

User

Amazing Club sandwich, sat and served and eating in about 15 minutes today at lunchtime. Cracking service, great food and nice selection of Belgian beer which always gets a thumbs up from me.

User

Love this place, staff laid back & friendly though don't take your order on written note pad, so can get it wrong as they did our last visit but probably trying a personal tack, no probs good food, always go back x

User

Had a late breakfast with my young daughter and wanted a nice comfortable place to eat with a really nice interior and we got just that. Would go again.

User

Great food, atmosphere and well situated. Highly recommended

User

4 and a half stars. Had a late breakfast yesterday. Full English breakfast and a pot of tea. Excellent value for money at well under a tenner. Staff were attentive. Drinks arrived quickly. Tables were clean. Food was hot but took a while to arrive, presumably as there was a table of about a dozen arrived just before us and they all ordered food. Would go again.

User

Visited last night. Very good value for money. The wine and dine offer is amazing. Me and my friend both thought our main course and desert were fantastic. Good quality food!

The 3 stars is because the waiters were not at all attentive. Being a waiter myself I can understand sometimes you get tired but it's not hard to be polite and chatty. We felt very uncomfortable at times. Plates were left on the table for an hour. And we also found a small piece of cheese in our water glass.

The decor and the food is extraordinary but there needs to be vast improvements in the waiting staff .

Will visit again :)

User

Stopped for lunch, after visiting quite a while ago. Good choice of menu. Food was tasty, but I could of done with more blue cheese dressing on my steak baguette. Would go back again!

User

I have been to the hub 5 or 6 times and the food has always been wonderul and yesterday was no exeption. However one thing that lacked was service. Our mains arrived quickly but an hour after we finished our dishes were finally taken. No one came to offer us a dessert menu in fact no one came near us for another half hour. I had to go up to a group of waiters that were having a chat to ask for the bill.

I would still come back here but was just dissapointed this time.

User

Hen party

Food was good and reasonably priced, however the service was slow. Waited 20 mins for our cheese board which had been forgot about I believe.

Didn't pay the optional service charge, as our party didn't feel it was deserved.

User

Came for a meal with ten girls after waiting nearly a hour for food wasnt great, got the bill and overcharged us for 6 small cokes if we came back to liverpool to visit wouldnt come back, the staff wasn’t friendly at all

User

Went to the hub yesterday was very disappointed service was slow and asked for fish finger sandwich and got battered fish which was very greasy

User

Very disappointed with the food at our Christmas meal complete lack of seasoning on the starter and main, fish cakes had no taste and came with a yellow sauce not sure what it was but also had no flavour. The turkey main was like a school meal two slabs of tasteless turkey on a indistinct orange purée some bland roast potatoes some limp veg and two mini pigs in blankets awash in gravy. The finale of cheese board which had freezing cold Brie the thinnest slice of some sort of white cheese and some chilli cheese (which was quite hot so took away most of the taste of the other cheese) and a few biscuits there was some home made piccalilli which was ok but they must have run out of chutney which most had on their plates and replaced it with some chopped up tomatoes and I think chilli. On the up side the staff and manager who were run ragged remained pleasant and helpful through the evening.

User

Went tonight with my partner for valentines starter was cold main was tastless and dessert was a dish of cream i complained and my meal was took off bill but this will not happen again i will never teturn and also all staff looked like students they could not be bothered no one came to ask if anything was okay and it was not

User

Staff member, who seemed to be a manager, seemed reluctant to seat us and never smiled. He had a face on him the whole time, very unwelcoming. The ham hock sandwich was bland, and had very little in the actual sandwich, as did the steak sandwich we also ordered. We complained about the ham hock and it was taken off the bill. The fish finger sandwich was okay, and the ribs also. Lovely chips. The waitress who served us was lovely and very helpful, however will not be going again.
