A local to be proud of! Every time I walk or drive past this beautiful building I still get butterflies and feel proud!

Bank holiday weekend is here and I’m thirsty!

Is breakfast still the most important meal of the day? Treat yourself.

We’ve been a few times now. Foods always good. Friendly staff. The steak is beautifully cooked. If I had to find a negative let’s have some chocolate cake on the menu for the chocoholics. Shame you stopped the Sunday lunches. Looking forward to our next visit. Great choice of cocktails

We went last night, 9 June, had to book two weeks in advance but worth it. the place is so different from before and the atmosphere was good, the staff was good especially Danny, it was his first day but he did great, shame he didn't stay with our table for all the night.

the food was great and plenty, we had the yakotori sticks and a pizza that half had to come home as too big for my daughter to eat, but she enjoyed it.

family members have booked from our recommendation.

will definitely be going again.

thank you Hunloke Arms, Chilled bars

We picked this place for Father’s Day and weren’t disappointed. Food was fabulous and very creatively presented. Huge portions too. The ambience is amazing - I have never been in a pub where so many customers who have never met before speak to each other. It says a lot about the sense of the place that this happens. It’s dog friendly - with jars of treats outside, alongside water bowls. The staff are friendly and welcoming - thanks especially to Meg who was awesome. I cannot recommend this place enough! Fantastic

Took my daughter as a treat for dinner yesterday I’ve been a few times now. This place is great, good food, relaxed atmosphere, fab selection of drinks. Nice little touches dog treats and my daughters fav free sweets!! One of the best in chesterfield feels like your on holiday. Glad it’s on this side of town for a change

This is my kind of place, relaxed atmosphere, excellent decor, the staff couldn't be more helpful friendly and welcoming, the food was out of this world, definitely worth the price, the take away doggy bags an excellent option, as the meals were huge. Will visit again, already recommended to family and friends, plus added pictures on Facebook and Instagram. Well done guys.

My partner and I have been here twice in the past 2 weeks and enjoyed our meals and drinks both times. The refurbishment of the pub is outstanding, the only gripe I have is the chips could be improved a little as there were quite a lot of the little crispy bits in comparison to actual chips on both occasions we have ate but other than that the food was brilliant.

I don’t really write reviews but I feel like I have too , I booked me and the wife in (for our wedding anniversary) , we was booked in for 9.15 because it was busy which is always a good sign , but because it was our 1st time we got there for 8 to have a few drinks 1st , the drink menu is amazing especially for the wife who loves gin , Danny the bar lad was really helpful giving his advice for some to try ,needless to say she had 3 different gins before our meal , we sat down at our table rate on time , we had already picked what we was having before (I’m sure the menu was designed for me ) I could have picked 20 things lol , we had the cammerbert sharer starter AMAZING , then we both went for the steak kebab think (sorry can’t remember name ) it was lovely , I’m a big eater but even I couldn’t manage it , needless to say the pudding we picked before hand never got picked , we decided to have the alcoholic bath drink to finish the night off which was lovely , then as a surprise the staff (sammy) brought out a ice cream pudding on a board with “happy anniversary “ written on it , which really did cap our night off ,

From start to finish it was second to none !!!!!

Thank you

We will definitely be back (got about 15 more dishes to try) and the wife as about 10 Gina to try

Remember guys if a place is busy it’s always a good thing !!!!!

Extremely busy Saturday, car park almost full so we thought it would be unlikely to get a table for three. However upon asking at the bar we were told the inside was full but we could eat on the terrace or the garden. We all ordered fish and chips which came in a wooden box. We only had to wait about 15 minutes. Each box had their own condiments inside. The lemon was wrapped in a muslin cloth tied with a bow so no pips. The tarter sauce was I think the best I had ever tasted. To drink we had homemade lemonade which had a scoop of lemon sorbet on top and a sprig of mint. The staff although rushed off their feet were very friendly. They had little tubs of sweets to take home ‘something for the road they said. It was very dog friendly, having not only bowls of water from an outside barrel but doggie biscuits as well. Also inside the door was a basket of blankets to wrap round you if you were cold outside. Very reasonably priced. We will be going again. The sign of a good pub is when it’s busy. Loved it.

Brilliant service every time.

Had an ‘open steak sandwich’ this afternoon, it’s not a sandwich, it’s a full meal! Absolutely beautiful, incredible steak & the sauce was unreal. Also... best chips around!

User

Amazingly brilliant place , the bathtub cocktail is delicious and fun , food amazing and staff excellant , had the pizza and some chips bith were lovely , went on a friday night and it was packed so sat in garden and ate which is lovely , lots of fairy lights , just loved this place cannot wait to go again 😜

User

2nd visit to this awesome restaurant but this time with our kids! Love the pizzas we ordered (Jamaica & Geneva) with fresh and generous toppings!!! Not forgetting the unique cocktails and fantastic service and thank you Sammy our waitress for taking care of us !

User

Visited yesterday for the first time. It was absolutely packed so good job I had booked a table, however despite the fact it was so busy we weren’t waiting long to be served.

The food was amazing and the selection is brilliant!

The only problem we had was that despite my friend asking for no glaze on her food it came out with it on. We sent it back but they were very quick at bringing a replacement.

I think we will be regular visitors from now on

Visited last night. Food was great and the service was good - thank you Callum.

We were disappointed however that we were on a table sitting on the shoulders of a table of about 10 or 12. They were having a good night and we’re very noisy and we couldn’t hear ourselves think let alone hear each other talking.

I suggest that if you have a large party of people booked in that perhaps sit them further away from other smaller groups of diners so everyone can enjoy their evening.

User

Nice bar and view sitting outside but the food I think is over rated. Food came out covered in to much salt and the fish batter had a funny taste and looked over done. To me my first dine in of the pub I think it’s over rated personally.

User

Have been a couple of times but yesterday’s experience was not what we’ve had before it was very poor. Yes a hot day and busy ( there were plenty of staff milling about) we had trouble parking (apparently they are extending the car park). Greeted at the bar and seated next to the pizza oven I asked to move as it was too hot there was plenty of spare tables. We sat for 20 minutes minutes never got asked if we wanted drinks I ended up getting up and getting the attention of a waiter and asking for drinks and to order. No introduction to see if we had been before. Food was good but Halloumi fries were stone cold, service if you can call it that was painfully slow and never really had one person serve us. When you book they ask for the table back for a set time we were only just getting our main course at that point. Had better service in Mac Donald’s.

User

Extremely busy for a Friday night , plenty of staff on but the service was very poor food was good but we waited 30 minutes for a drink we had ordered to arrive in fact the table next to us with 6 on received their drinks before ours even though they ordered after us. sammy the waitress was very apologetic but maybe the other waitresses that were stood in the prep area who were talking had been more efficient then Sammy would not have seemed so flustered. As I said the food we ordered excellent but poor service let the evening down .

User

Definitely NOT family friendly.

After visiting here on a number of occasions it has become clear that the clientele they desire are the Range Rover / Porsche type that will pay over the odds for their drinks and food.

We called here on a Saturday evening with our 2 young kids and sat outside in the garden. Which I might add is still somewhat of a builders rubble dump, there were a few others families there too. All kids having a nice time until told that we had to leave by 9pm, on A lovely summer evening. No kids causing problems, well away from the main pub area. Manager made it clear that kids not welcome, even tho parents spending on overpriced drinks etc.

Manager tried to state that it was a condition of their licence, until it was pointed out that a member of the local licensing team was present, then stated it was company policy!

If you have kids, give this a miss as we are clearly not welcome !

User

Came for my husband birthday tea. All 3 of us ordered the same meal..... although only 2 came out . Which left me waiting nearly 10mins for my meal. May i add that it took nearly 5mins before anyone informed us why there was a delay on the 3rd meal.

After this to add insult to injury when ordering our desserts it was clearly stated that NO cream was wanted on 1 of the ice cream desserts. As my husband was eating his dessert he found cream in the bottom of his dessert. When the member of staff was made aware of the contents of cream and that this was not for allergy reason ..... the response from staff was that my husband would just have to eat until he reached the cream.

A £3.50 refund was given ..... very poor service spoilt nice food and our family celebrations.

These issues could have been easily been resolved or avoided with better customer service.
