Lovely place nice food and the locals were friendly

There seems to be a lack of communication between the floor and kitchen staff. The food has been bad with parts of the meal missing the past two times me and my family have visited. However, the floor/bar service is excellent.

Stayed here for the first time this summer, lovely location, great food and nice staff. The beer garden is very good and family friendly. I recommend the walk to Heddons Mouth which can be accessed from the beer garden.

Stopped for a pork and apple sauce sandwich at lunchtime. At £8 was expecting the brown bread to be possibly granary but at the least something more than akin to supermarket budget brand. The meat was cut in chunks. 2 Sandwiches and 2 halfs of cider set us back a few pence short of £20. Definitely overpriced on the food.

Beautiful location, of a bit hard to get to. But definitely worth it. Would be a fantastic walking/cycling stop. The inside of the building is just incredible and it has a great garden. It's pretty much everything you'd want from a pub in the middle of a valley. Plus free wifi

We called in to the Hunter's while my husband had a meeting next door with the National Trust. I enquired about having a Devonshire Cream Tea, they did a special 'out of hours' one for us.. it was delicious and in my husband's words " the best scones he had ever had" wonderful service, beautiful setting.. hopefully we will go back again sometime and stay overnight!

Sat outside as inn was being used for a wedding. 4 stars only because they took so long delivering 2 coffees and a cup of tea.

Nice old place. Very big more modern beer garden over the road, kids playground. Good selection of drinks. Didn't try the food.

Country pub by the coast. Good walks from there. Food is good but service wasn't great. Still, went with people before and they said the lapse was not like what they'd had before so I won't be too hasty to judge
