The Inn At Grasmere

Traditional pub in centre of Grasmere. Serves food all day. Steak & Ale Pie stuffed with steak but with very flimsy puff pastry lid which had to be eaten by hand like a flaky biscuit. Local Jennings Real Ales on handpump. Great place to land after a walk round Grasmere and Rydal Water (8 miles)

We only at stopped here for a pint. Decent enough beer. Plan to go back and try the food which looked great

We had the most amazing stay at The Inn. The attention to detail really made our stay personalised and unique. The food was excellent too. I would really recommend eating at their restaurant - however the starters maybe a little pricey for what we received. Overall, fantastic stay! I will definitely be coming again

Excellent weekend spent with friends to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. Lovely room, excellent food. Very good service from all staff.
Made to feel special. Attention to detail made the celebration meal one to remember.

Having stayed here previously & had a great experience we booked again and we were very disappointed this time around. This hotel would appear to have changed hands at some stage and is no longer a part of Best Western.
During our booking process we advised of our dietary requirements to ensure we would be able to eat in the restaurant as we had booked for 3 days. However on arrival and ordering food at the bar we were advised that none of the food on the menu could be adapted and had "either milk or butter in it"! We were eventually offered a salad (some lettuce with celery and a large tomato) with a side of fries as our evening meal - Yum!! Didn't eat here again. Shocking that the management didn't see it fit to advise us of this as we could have cancelled our booking. So much for the claims of 'Real Food' and the menu asking customers to advise of dietary requirements.
We had room 7 in the 'little inn' across the road from the main hotel which had 70's wood chip wallpaper, a mouldy shower cubicle, cracked sink & loose floor tiles. On our previous visit we had a lovely room in the main hotel so be aware there is a big variation in the standards of rooms available at this hotel. On the plus side, it is in a great location.

Sub standard room in every way. The bathroom was filthy, black mouldy grouting and the shower wouldn't drain. We paid extra to have our dog and were put in a crappier room, as usual. A bit unfair if you ask me. Why not make all the rooms look nice, either that or just don't charge people more to stay in a crap room with their dog. Definitely not worth £180 a night, I don't think I would choose to stay there again and would not recommend it to my friends. It served its purpose as a place to sleep, thankfully the area is full of things to keep you out of your room

Thanks for a great stay in your hotel. Rooms are immaculate and staff friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Would recommend to anyone coming to visit the area.

Offers Excellent service, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Great public house to stop by and have a well earned drink after a long walk.

Good location. Friendly staff and tasty food, but not cheap.
