Went for my friends birthday on Friday night. I had the salmon and it was delicious. Atmosphere was great, service couldn’t be better. Would definitely come back.

User

We took some visitors from out of town on Sunday and asked to sit upstairs on the terrace. What a treat! Our waiter was so attentive, our food was outstanding and really enjoyed the whole experience. Keep up the good work. I agree that tension at the front desk could be eased.

User

We popped in too after the lunch rush and was welcomed - what an amazing place! The staff and service and food were excellent

Very attentive and knew their stuff always a plus with my other half!

We had the ivy hamburger - delicious / I had the prawn cocktail which was nice but bit too tangy for me - not their fault as I’m a plain ish Jane

We squeezed in a bath bun afternoon tea to follow and thank goodness we did - scrumptious isn’t the word!!

Really recommend and we will be trying a more local one in Marlow soon

User

The staff were super attentive and the ambiance was fabulous. Drinks at the bar were a delight and the food was awesome, can’t wait for the next visit.

User

Popped in for a lunchtime drink with friends and loved it staff was friendly and loved the ambience of the place will visit again off day

User

Omg what can I say..... can’t wait to eat here again...the food was absolutely stunning and the cocktails were truly scrumptious and the staff esp the bar staff were all so helpful and friendly

User

Lovely welcome at door, we had booked and was shown to our table straight away. Introduced to our waiter Antonio who was friendly, efficient and attentive but not too much! Food excellent, overall a wonderful evening.

User

Loved it, very welcoming, good service, great menu, yummy food, was only in town for one night otherwise we would have been back to try something else as we just couldn’t make up our minds. Definitely recommend it 👍🏆

User

Last night we went for my husbands birthday. The food was amazing!, cocktails were expensive wine was a normal price. It was my husbands birthday and they came out with a candle in his desert which was a lovely surprise!. I’d definitely recommend and visit again!. I recommend non slip shoes as I nearly did the splits on the way out 😂😂

User

I come here a lot and have always had a good experience and this time was also very good. We went up on the roof terrace which is beautiful and very well done. Service, food and ambiance was great. Only thing I never like is the desk makes you feel at the front door.

User

Everything you would expect from The Ivy great food, wine and service. Lunch with friends was a really nice relaxed experience we were looked after exceedingly well. Nothing wrong with a bit of formality and managing peoples expectation of how to behave in these wonderful surroundings.

User

Brilliant food, brilliant service, was slow at one point when it got busy, but my uncle was given a complimentary coffee to make up for this. First time in an Ivy outside of London and it was beautiful. And I need more of the Rosebud Oolong tea in my life!

User

What customer service! We forgot to bring our Voucher that had been given to us last Christmas by the family. We turned up today without the voucher and the girls on Reception could not have been more helpful. Eventually it was all processed by email and we had a fab lunch. Those girls on Reception really took the stress out of it. Bravo! Oh, and the food and ambience was to die for...We shall return

User

We went to the Bath Ivy Brasserie yesterday evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were really looking forward to going although we had heard conflicting reviews. We loved it!!! The decor, the welcome at the front door, the attentiveness of all the staff and the food. It was a totally fantastic experience. The only criticism was the price of a glass of wine! Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, £9 and it was a small glass.

We will definitely be returning.

User

Really enjoyed it for my birthday.

My fillet steak was delicious.

Happy to pay good money for steak but I did think for £30 you would at least get a sauce Inc and or chips. £37 I think is alot. Servive was good bit a few little things they didn't do, put napkin down for you, a few things bring dropped, no chocolate on presentation of bill, no sloe gin and the salt at sauce on. My chocolate bomb was delicious.

Overall a lovely place but not sure if rush back but would recommend fir the experience.

User

We were there for a friends 50th afternoon tea. The cups were dirty, had to ask several times for milk, water and spoons for cream/jam & chocolate pots. Abrupt waitress brought large geeen tea saying for two.. we said no for one she argued no it’s for 2! Left it anyway.. Very disappointing especially as a special occasion, I had to get up twice to chase for things including the bill all staff seemed to disappear so the barman helped us. Won’t be rushing back

User

Lovely place to celebrate a special occasion though I was disappointed I took my friend for her birthday & it was not acknowledged.

Prices on drinks where higher than expected.

Food delicious & served to a high standard.

Staff very efficient once you got their attention.

User

We popped in for afternoon tea yesterday without a booking. It’s a shame you have the vibe you do at the door. There is way too much tension and formality. The place was virtually empty !!

It’s like you did us a favour allowing us entry.

Perhaps I’m mistaken and you can’t just arrive? It’s all so stressful and awkward. I’ve been for lunch twice and enjoyed the food but yesterday was my third visit and I thought the two girls on the door were going to call the cops when we arrived without a booking. In fact the one looked entirely p.....d off when we brushed passed her and walked in to an empty restaurant and walked towards an empty table. If the idea is to create a stiff ‘you can only eat here if you book and are lucky too’ then you’ve succeeded.

Or you could try to learn the names of local regulars and provide a special VIP feeling. 🤷🏻‍♂️

User

We booked in on Saturday for an early dinner and were instantly made very welcome. The restaurant had noted our request for a table with banquette seating and we were shown to a lovely table. Service was excellent and our waitress warm and engaging. Sadly the food was underwhelming. We had ordered an identical meal at The Ivy in Cheltenham which was far superior. It’s so disappointing when you are looking forward to enjoying such a treat again. A chain needs to be consistent. We had beautifully presented pea and mint soup which wasn’t seasoned at all so tasted bland. My daughter’s chicken salad packed with advocado last time had two thin slivers and when we asked for more three more delicate slivers were eventually delivered. As the kitchen had also run out of green juice I’m wondering if they had run out of advocados? - in which case a problem easily fixed by a quick trot around the corner to Waitrose) The crab linguine looked like it had jumped straight out of a cookery book but was completely flavourless. No amount of lemon juice and chilli flakes could bring it to life. So disappointing after the same dish in Cheltenham was one of the most delicious plates of pasta I had eaten in ages. The two meals just didn’t compare. My daughter and I were celebrating my Mum’s 80th birthday which is why we didn’t make a fuss. Mum’s chicken salad which was offered as a special on Saturday was perfect and she didn’t have the starter so her meal coupled with the lovely service we had from our waitress meant she had a lovely evening but my daughter and I felt very let down after having seen what The Ivy can deliver in Cheltenham. When everything is right it’s money well spent. On Saturday we left feeling like we had not had good value for money and I’m not sure if we will rush back to Bath with such enthusiasm. We did feel out of pocket and let down. We did pay our service charge as the front of house staff worked hard and looked after us extremely well but they were let down by the kitchen.
