The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and prompt, you ordered a drink and within 5 minutes if not before it was on your table! We ordered the prawns with squid and omg it was the best I have eaten... my husband ordered the prawn cocktail and they tasted delicious fresh and juicy.... my main was fillet steak and parmesan chips, cooked to perfection, the chocolate bomb was like fireworks exploding in my mouth!!! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and anyone!!! Definitely will be returning and can't wait. 5* most definitely

I went with a friend on the 8th June as a bday treat for lunch & it was our first visit, I couldn’t fault anything, table reservation was ready .... service was excellent as was the food ambience was great, cleanliness of restaurant was tip too as were the staff we noticed at one point the waiters/waitresses changed there white aprons even if there wasn’t any marks on them which was impressive, we will definetly be going back next time we are going too have the cream tea with champers of course be rude not too. Highly recommend

I have been to a few Ivy restaurants over the years. It was lovely to see one established in Blackheath.

I had the opportunity to go for dinner two weeks ago with a party of four. The food was fantastic as was the attentive service. Go try it out.

User

Had lunch today at the Ivy Cafe in Blackheath.

The food was delicious. The set menu for lunch is excellent value for money.

The whole experience was made even more enjoyable by the highly attentive staff.

Thank you Dale for your superb service throughout lunch.

User

Had a beautiful lunch with you yesterday. A superb tonic for myself and my chap ..... the ambiance was just perfect, the staff an absolute treat..... only one negative, the chips were terrible..... like oven chips re-heated ( glad I had the mash ) as that was mash to a standard of any mash i have ever tried. Overall our visit was a pleasure... thank you all at The Ivy Blackheath x

User

Excellent food, the service was very good, though our waiter was a little unfriendly, quite stern. I can heartily recommend the blackened cod, it was gorgeous.

User

Easter Monday early dinner and I couldn’t fault the service. We moved tables as was a bit cramped but thankfully we could do so as wasn’t that packed. We had scallops, tuna carpaccio, prawn cocktail and wasabi prawns to start... couldn’t taste any wasabi but was good anyway. Tuna carpaccio and scallops amazing. Then fillet steak, crab linguine, lamb and the steak and eggs combo. And one cheese to share for 4.

User

Amazing meal at the ivy cafe, Blackheath. Scallop and crispy duck starters were really

Accomplished and the blackened cod main dish was amazing. I will be back.

User

Very nice restaurant although it calls itself a cafe. Excellent service and attentive staff. We ate from the brunch menu which offered a wide range of tempting dishes. Good cocktails too. Not outrageously priced seeing as it’s part of the IVY restaurant clan. All in all I would definitely go again and recommend it highly.

User

Taken by my daughter for a Fathers Day treat for my husband, we had a delicious meal. My asparagus was tender and cooked to perfection. The shepherds pie was a very tasty take on an old favourite set off perfectly by sugar snap peas. Will certainly be going again.

User

Our table was not ready so we were taken to the bar to o see a drink. Very quick service and drinks came immediately which was lovely then ten mins later our table ready. Staff all very nice and helpful. Tables are a bit tight together. I had planned what I wanted for my starter but sadly it was not available. My meal was lovely I had smoked salmon for starters and blackened cod for main and apple tart which was yummy which they flatbed in calvados it was really good. My husband had scallops which were gorgeous and then slow cooked shoulder of lamb which was ok but not as good as he thought it would be. Service brilliant and we were not rushed at all.

User

Lovely food, but the tables are too small, it was not very warm inside and it is way too dark!!

Drinks menu for people who do not drink alcohol was very limited !

User

Knocking one star off because you ran out of chocolate bombs. Waiter was sorry but stated, it is 11pm, well we were there at 8.30pm. Service was slow, which we were not to bothered about as it gave us a rest between started and main which were both great, just VERY disappointed No Chocolate BOMBS. None of us keen on the other deserts

User

Got there 30 minutes and were given a table straight away, which was good. It took ages to get the drink order and they got it wrong. Another long wait until the food order was taken, had to ask for the Market Place Dish as well. Food was great, but the staff just let it all down. Still would try again to see if it's was just a one of with the staff.

User

Food was good, service was ok the table we had was near the bar and very noisy. Wanted a catch up with friends but couldn’t hear each other talking. The Towerbridge and West end ones are much better. Would go back here but choose a table away from the bar. Shepard’s pie was lovely

User

Went there just after it opened and was disappointed in the food knowledge of the staff, being gluten and dairy free the ordering process was a pain as I was repeatedly told I could have something and then advised I couldn’t.

I hope the staff have now been better trained to cater for dietary requirements have learnt the menu

User

1st time here as The Ivy. Menu choice was good for meat eaters but for a veggie on brunch menu very limited if you didn't want eggs Benedict in its various forms. Shepherd's pie was ok bit have had better. The arancini and zucchini fries were great.

Not my choice to go there as not local for us and not special enough to make longer journey from where we are.

Cannot fault our lovely waiter tho. He was a credit to restaurant.

User

Main issue was the table was too small to accommodate our afrternoon tea, we were right on the corner of the entrance to the toilets & where they bring the food from 🙄 my sis booked a wheel chair accessible table & this was far from it, in fact the wheel chair didn’t fit solely it intbe car 😏 very disappointing actually 😏.

User

I have never received such appalling service and attitude as my colleague and I experienced last night. Booking was simple via Open Table and we both arrived at our designated slot.

Our server was VERY keen to remind us as we were seated that our table was only booked for 2 hours. I ordered the strawberry soda, which although pretty to look at was one of the most insipid beverages I’ve had the misfortune to taste.

We ordered. Whilst awaiting our first course, the waiter brought the cutlery for both courses. My colleague and I continued our conversation for it to be interrupted by the waiter to inform me of which cutlery I needed to use for each course. Now, you may be forgiven as I had arrived on a motorbike (a classic triumph for reference) but dressed appropriately for the surroundings, that perhaps I was unsure about the conventions of cutlery and dining out. We continued our conversation and our courses were delivered. I was not prepared for the tableware to be cleared (glassware etc) whilst we were eating, nor to have the waiter lean across my meal to get to items.

Despite both our courses being mediocre, we decided to order our third course. The waiter brought the menu but on delivery of said menu we were informed that his favourite item was unavailable to us as it takes 25 minutes to prepare and walked away. Luckily both my colleague and I have a sense of humour and laughed it off.

We ordered and on delivery of an ice cream and a sundae, the bill was placed on our table. I had barely placed my spoon down, when the card machine was thrust under my nose. From our 2 hour allotted slot, we still had 20 minutes left.

I paid the bill and we left.

This is shocking as you are trading on the reputation of the real Ivy - at which I have the pleasure of eating at most weeks, to treat customers who made no demands of the staff except to be treated well.
