Our staff have worked incredibly hard these past few weeks, especially the chefs and kitchen staff. So in order to give them some time off, we are closing the kitchen today only. The bar is open as usual. Normal service resumes tomorrow, we are serving food 12-9. Thank you for your understanding.

We are having issues with flooding in our carpark. We have had two companies out to solve the problem but they have not managed it. United Utilities are hopefully coming out today. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes. The Management

The lovely and talented Beth Mann entertained our customers, inparticacular our veteran soldiers who were dancing along. Went for breakfast on Sunday morning and it was lovely...fantastic food, service and great price. Catered for what I wanted and unlimited tea & coffee. Will definatly be going again for breakfast.

We were a bit reticent to try the restaurant after being really disappointed on our last visit about 2/3 years ago. We decided to give it a go and we definitely weren't disappointed. Everything was perfect and our young waiter, Ryan, couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

We have been welcomed with open arms after our move from the Queens. Also had snack lunches last Saturday..... fish and chips barm and hot beef and onion baguette.... very nice. If you like � Karaoke then come along Friday night. Great pub,great atmosphere and friendly staff.

We have been for several meals at the Jolly now and can say with hand on heart we have never been disappointed, yes you have to wait but it is well worth the wait, the food is made fresh to order if you read the notices. Then pudding are to die for and if you get the chance try the lemon meringue OMG

Just enjoyed a great meal this evening. Great choices on the menu. Black and white stack to start, chicken carbonara afterwards. My wife had the cheesy garlic bread and the beef burger. All cooked and presented to a high standard. The service was friendly and efficient without feeling rushed. Great ambience in this true family run pub.

I don’t normally write reviews but after hearing/seeing the fiasco this evening, I feel compelled to support a local small business. I ate at the Jolly Carter this evening and the food was lovely. There was some disruption with a couple from another table who were complaining about their food. I feel this was dealt with professionally by the staff at the Jolly Carter as the couple were refusing to pay. It was also not hard to listen to them complain! I have never had a bad meal at the Jolly and thoroughly recommend eating here.

Had the seafood tagliatelle today and can honestly say it’s the best I’ve ever had, definitely a favourite on the menu and will look forward to having this again very soon

Had a delicious meal at the Jolly Carter tonight, I had a cajun chicken burger which is on the 2 for £10 deal and excellent value for money. There was a mix up with our order so we were offered a free drink which was lovely. Friendly staff, definitely recommended! Thank you.

Great food and very pleasant staff ���

From walking in to the end of the meal we found the staff attentive, polite without being over the top. The garlic bread with tomato and chilli was lovely, hot from the oven and very tasty. My rump steak was cooked to perfection with a generous amount of peppercorn sauce. The best steak I think I've ever eaten. Hubby's double burger was a tower!! He demolished it with a grin on his face. And a little note to the humongous onion rings!! Brilliant accompaniment. Definitely a place to visit again xx

Came tonight with a large party to celebrate a friends birthday, food was lovely, service was brilliant, waitresses were lovely and very helpful.

Called in tonight 14/09 for a quick tea. Whoever is the chef needs a big pat on the back. Had the 8oz burger and the chicken and bacon salad. The food was beautifully presented and couldn't fault it. Please continue what you are doing as the food was beautiful and will definitely be returning. Well done!

By far one of the nicest places we have ate for a long time! The food was so fresh and tasty would most definitely recommend to anyone wanting some homemade high standard food with great friendly staff & service.

At the last minute we decided to eat out messaged Jolly and Steve sorted a table in minutes!

The food and service was excellent. If you are looking for a very good pub meal I highly recommend you give the Jolly a try.

20 of us went for Christmas meal the service was excellent small things that make a difference e.g...bringing out kids food first then then the elderly.. the food was really good the staff were helpful and polite and the atmosphere was fab.. this could become a family tradition thank you for a lovely day �� highly recommended

Went to the Jolly Carter last night for a meal and to watch a band called Glam 45.

The restaurant was pleasant with good food & service. The band were excellent and the pub was friendly with a good atmosphere. There is a great selection of beers at the pub and my favourite beer was called Saltaire Blonde. I recommend this pub if someone wants a fab night out.

Had another lovely good quality meal here yesterday afternoon, served with a smile which always make s a difference �

Also called in Thursday early evening and decided to stay later than we planned to see what the Acoustic Buskers (open mic) Ball was like..really enjoyed it all and absolutely loved listening to a girl that was just in there with her rounders team after their game. Hopefully we'll be there again this Thursday.
