Second time at the theatre today - first time was a couple of years ago to see 'Joseph' which was beyond amazing...back again today to see 'Cats' and it was truly wonderful! Such amazing attention to detail - the choreography, costumes, singing...just superb! And the live orchestra were fantastic! A wonderful venue, a real hidden treasure!!! I would highly recommend!

Love seeing shows here fantastic place to watch a show from

I have seen Phantom in London, Cats in Leeds at the Grand and a host of others from a manic Godspell to the Oddsocks productions recently, but last night at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre was by far, the best fun, the most entertaining three hours of theatre I have ever spent.

Watching Robert Fisher playing Leo Bloom, Jonny Holbek as a manic Franz Liebkind and Andrew Isherwood playing Max Bialystock was sublime. As a SUPERFAN of the Nathan Lane film, I was very nervous beforehand that they would inadvertently destroy my love for the film and the show, but they added to it and some.

The key songs; The King of Broadway (left out of the film, on the special features disc) were included as well as Betrayed and the delightfully daft Gluten Tag Hop Clop and Das Deutsche Band, sung so well by Jonny Holbek. What a joy to see someone do better than Will Ferrell (and that takes some doing). And who was that lead tenor in the opening to Springtime for Hitler? What a voice! Eat your heart out Mr Barrowman!

The whole thing was just magical. If that is the extent of local players then I say bravo ladies and gentlemen and I agree with Max's analysis of Ulla (wonderfully portrayed by Nikki Ainscough) about the whole show. "Ooh wow wow woo wow wow woo." Thank you Joseph Rowntree Theatre and players. You were brilliant.

User

Great experience, my first time there and with a 6 week old baby, so pleased it had baby changing facilities too.

User

Fiddler on the roof Saturday evening show, I was on the front row. This is my first time at this venue and I have to say it was an awesome evening of entertainment. All the cast were amazing professional in my opinion. Seriously you deserve my standing ovation. And to top it off an awesome amazing orchestra live to boot. You rocked it. It was emotional, funny and fantastically performed. The singing was awesome the hairs on my arms were standing up. It's a long time since I was on stage and you made me want to get back up there. Well done to you all, cast, orchestra, behind the scenes staff and theatre staff well done and thanks for a fab night. See you all soon xxxx

User

Caught the last showing of meet me in St. Louis was a lovely show cast members interacted with the audience at the end could tell they enjoyed performing and put in a lot of effort would definitely go back and recommend the theatre

User

Been to see the Producers this afternoon it was superb great value for money no need to go to

the West end, don't believe it could be any better , the enthusiasm of the cast is great .

User

Beautiful little theatre about 1 mile from city centre, an easy 20 min walk or short bus ride. Auditorium is so pleasant & intimate with excellent raked seating. It has a deep pit so your view is not obstructed by the orchestra when watching a musical. Theatre staff & volunteers obviously love the place which shows in their manner with audience members. I will be back again asap.

User

As a G and S fan for most of my life Saturday's performance of The Pirates of Penzance was very good and thoroughly enjoyable. The audience had young and old and all seemed to enjoy it as much as I did.

Looking forward to future G & S performances.

User

Anything Goes was brilliant. Lovely little theatre with helpful friendly staff. Ice cream ūüć¶ in the interval was tasty and didn't take too long unlike the queue for the ladies that took ages! All in all a good venue ūüĎŹūüĎŹūüĎŹūüĎćūüŹĽ
