Today we’re spending the afternoon with our dear friends @ Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre in Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🦅 Did you know that they are the official sponsors of Dusk & Dawn, our Barn owl sisters? We highly recommend a visit to this beautiful and unique centre. So much to do, see and learn!

We do a lot of Photography, TV, Film and media work at The Kent Owl Academy. Yesterday we had a fun time taking part this ‘Game of thrones’ inspired shoot. All set in the beautiful herb garden at Kent Life, which even comes with it’s very own throne! Have you ever sat in it during your visit?

Yesterday we teamed up with our sister centre Imperial Bird of Prey Academy at Essex Wildlife Trust - Belfairs Woodland Centre for an exotics evening. The guests had a real treat, as they had the pleasure of seeing ‘Dandy’ in action. Do you know what he is? 👀

***Please share this important information with your friends and family*** We are currently experiencing “baby bird” season here at the KOA, which means we get a lot of calls, messages and “hand ins” from members of the public. If you stumble across a baby bird on the floor, take a quick glance and keep your distance. If the bird doesn’t have any signs of trauma or injury, please LEAVE IT ALONE. Baby birds can be curious and wander from their nests in their branching and fl...edgling stages. The parents are close by and will be keeping an eye on them. Owl chicks will sometimes leave their nests and even fall small distances...they will soon climb back up most of the time. We all love nature and want to do our bit to help. However, by moving the chicks we are causing a lot more harm than good! Here is one of the Tawny owl chicks handed in this week, who is now with a designated rehabilitation facility with other “orphans” of his own kind. Just remember, look- but don’t touch! 🦉🐣
