We booked to go for Sunday lunch but were a bit dismayed when we say the 'Auction' signs. We though it didn't bode well.

It was fairly quiet but the Sunday lunch menu gave us lots of choices.



I chose camenbert stuffed with stilton and cranberries followed by twice cooked belly pork. Both were delicious my husband ordered arancini with salmon and the roast beef dinner.

The salad on the starters was lovely and fresh, rocket, carrot and spring onion. The bread served with my cheese was soft and fresh. The cheese itself was lovely.

The pork had a topping of vegetable crisps and was served with roast potatoes and a selection of vegetables. The food was really hot and didn't have any appearance of hanging around waiting for service. It all appeared to be cooked to order although there were no long waiting times.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Bistro to anyone who is looking for good quality food at a fair price. Excellent food and excellent value

Really friendly staff, great choice with starters, main meal and dessert. food was really good 5 stars. You are seated in a large dinning room with original ornate victorian coving and sliding sash windows etc. and has been updated to a high spec with deco. We will definitely go back.

Paid a visit to the Kildare for Sunday lunch today and was very impressed with the whole experience.

From the moment you enter the restaurant you are greeted with a friendly welcome from the pleasant and knowledgeable staff.

We were served three courses of food that were of a very high standard and presented beautifully.

We will certainly be returning to this lovely restaurant and would highly recommend you pay a visit.

Once again, excellent food, lovely setting and brilliant service. Overall we could not fault this place. And even better, it's local to us! Many thanks and we will always continue coming to The Kildare . Keep up the good work! �

New Years Day lunch today deserved 5 stars, but every meal I've had at the Kildare -from coffee, light lunch or dinner is consistently 5 star. Well done to all the staff

Gorgeous food..great surroundings..prompt service..waitress apologised for our wait between starter and main..my husband and I were confused as there was literally only few minutes between starters being cleared and main arriving..recommend to everyone..its a gem of a place
