The cold weather is here. To celebrate, we're offering four separate roasts tomorrow!
Cooked fresh throughout the day, we'll be offering beef, lamb, chicken and a homemade veggie nut roast with all the seasonal trimmings!

Telephone reservations improved!
You have been telling us that when you ring to make a table booking on Tues to Thurs before 5pm, you often find there is no one here to take your call.
So we sorted out one of those new fangled answering machine gadgets.
... When making a table reservation:
Leave your name, contact number, how many people it's for and your desired date & time.
We will call you back (around 5pm) to confirm.
We need to confirm to avoid any double bookings, etc.
If, for some reason we can't contact you, please do not assume your table has been reserved.
If you cannot get here for your reservation, please call us to cancel your booking.

Pizzas come to the Kingston tomorrow!
Giancarlo, our headchef, has prepped the dough for our pizza day tomorrow (Saturday). He insists it needs to 'do it's thing' for twenty four hours (he is a perfectionist) so our kitchen has these in it...

It's "Bring Own Food Your Week" at the Kingston!
I mean it's "Bring Your Own Food Week"! Ahem.
Due to kitchen refurb we have closed the kitchen for the week, so instead we want our customers to order takeaways from the Kingston or bring your own food.
... All we ask is you buy our drinks.
So, you bring the food, we supply the drinks!
Kitchen will reopen sometime this weekend. Check back here for updates.

We love this pub totally...it’s been one of my fellas haunts for years. However...went for a Sunday roast, firstly they didn’t do vegggie gravy for veggie roast, it’s not hard to have bisto red on the shelf! However chef was kind and said he would do something. Looked ok, vegetables (only kale and courgette) came out cold, I had no Yorkie and around an egg cupful of watery veg stock as gravy. The veg wellington was divine but the meal was so dry that my friends dog finished it off. Sorry...I don’t like moaning but it wasn’t very good...we even had to almost run after the waitress after she had put the plates down just to request sauces and salt and pepper! I adore this quaint little back syreet gem of a pub, they keep good barrels, lovely fire, just the food and service somewhat eek 😳!!

User

This place has everything that a proper pub has to offer.

Always a warm welcome and good feeling generates throughout, the beers and ciders are all kept well and not overpriced , the food is also extremely good.

User

The best chips! and the beer great range, friendly people, ace staff, a fire in winter, telly at specific times, no piped music, recession beer, recession menu;my sister, travelling over from west west Wales said, 'Can we go to the pub with egg and chips? ', and the dog could hide under the table.Thank you.

User

Proper nice homely pub with great beers and food. Always bring visitors here and they love it.

User

My nephew introduced me to this delightful and friendly pub with a great atmosphere. Had a couple of very flavoursome pints of stout with a vegi burger. Off the beaten track and would highly recommend.

User

I normally visit the Kingston Arms once a fortnight, sometimes once a week. For me, it has an excellent range of very well kept ales - some of which change around and others stay as customer favourites. I'm a brewer so I'm quite critical!

Of all the pubs in Cambridge, I eat hear the most - all the food is excellent & I've never had a bad meal yet. The burgers are simply amazing and the hand cut chips served with them are irresistible.

And if the food and drink aren't enough, the atmosphere is great. It's a very cosmopolitan pub with people of all nationalities there all getting along just fine with the locals.

So in a nutshell, if you want a great pub with atmosphere, good food and drink - you'd be hard pushed to find anywhere better!

Well done guys & gals!

Oh & one last thing - the Xmas lunch last year was the best I've ever had in a pub - but the quality of the food and the price - amazing & I'm back again this year!

User

Great pub, lovely food, great selection of beers. Friendly staff. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Cambridge.

User

Great food and beer

User

First time here was yesterday....second time today. Good range of well kept beers and friendly service. Can get very busy....with good reason. They also let dogs in and have a real fire. Food is served, I did not eat but it looked good....but this is first and foremost a pub....with six regular beers (including Jaipur) and six guest ales. Smashing.

User

Excellent pub, best real ale in Cambridge + 20p per pint CAMRA discount roaring fire last night and on Xmas day, doggy friendly.

User

Yummy food warm cosy vibe and great service, busy pub but always has impeccable food, book in advance my advice on a Friday Sat night, great recession offers and if want to treat oneself some fab specials .garden out back heated , what's not to love,

User

Unfortunately, I don't get to Cambridge very often.

But when I do, I always make time to come here.

A great friendly pub, with a large selection of well kept real ales/ciders, with good(and not over-pretentoius) food to boot.

I wish I lived round the corner from such a place like this.

User

Lovely place, cracking ales/good range and service tips. Love the place

User

I visited this pub whilst in Cambridge based upon a recommendation of a friend. They have an excellent selection of ales and their guest ales are sublime. The place has plenty of character, friendly bar staff and Bear the cat. My only gripe was the kitchen was closed for refurbishment, but that worked to our advantage as we were able to get a seat at Sunday lunchtime. Will visit again next time I am in Cambridge.

User

Great pub quality selection of beer interesting looking food great chatty knowledgeable staff will return

User

Good place to enjoy a drink with plenty of choice of beers, staff very friendly.

User

Good collection of interesting real ales served in good condition A relaxed slightly bohemian atmosphere with board games available. Indeed 2 people were playing battleship when I was in!

User

Nice pub but food wasn't as good as we was hoping. Cottage pie was just the same ragu they used for the bolognaise with mashed potato on the top. No gravy.

User

We reserved a table for Sunday lunch (our kitchen was having a re-fit, is we were looking forward to eating out. When the food came, it was lukewarm and the plate was cold. We sent it back and were given a replacement. The food was just ok- broccoli was hard, roast potatoes were obviously re-heated and there was no Yorkshire pudding!!. To be fair, the price of the drinks were taken off the bill and the dessert was lovely. We decided to go there because there was a good review in the Cambridge evening news. Very disappointed 😟!
