Who's feeling christmassy? 🎄
great place made feel so welcome and our 2 boarder terriers nice meal and drinks at a very reasonable price the young Welsh barman couldn't do enough for us
We stopped of here on the way back home for a coffee , we had just had lunch at the Dog and Gun very poor by the way in my option , the meals we saw as we walked in looked good value , hope to be back soon to try one.
Very nice staff, delicious food. I loved the chicken burger - the salad was so fresh! - 5 stars.
This is constructive criticism. I love the idea of the age of it etc.but it needs a good gutting out.all the table out pressure washed scrubbed up painted and chairs.all the fixed bench seats done with thicker wood just a bit of tlc.musky damp smell in the air.soon as customer's leaves move in qiuckly clear table wipe with a nice smelling cleaner spray stuff.plenty of this stuff on market.a really love this place.but needs freshened up.
Popped in for a pint and ended up with a steak and ale pie... if I had that much meat I'd be a porn star. Absolutely delicious. Warm and cosy. The staff are very polite and courteous. Highly recommended
Pleasant staff decent Fosters food was served very quickly well cooked and appeared homemade.

Bright sunny day yesterday and great views from the inn at the top of the Kirkstone Pass.
Very welcoming staff, a great atmosphere and well kept selection of good beers.
Thanks for making us welcome.
Been here last week.. hot chocolate, fish n chips are tasty.. been here 4 times when i came over to Lake District...
As always just had a great meal at The Kirkstone. Those curries are simply the greatest! Very dog friendly and a great atmosphere. I remember coming a few years ago on the day we got engaged. It was in December, it’s was cold and out dogs were wet and chilly. They made sure that the fire was lit and topped up so the dogs could get warm. Very special evening for us.
Came here on Friday 29th Dec for lunch, after having a trek through the snow with my daughter.
Very welcoming staff/owners behind the bar. Excellent choice of food including specials board. Great quantities for great prices. Definitely recommend.
Lovely coal fire which landlord “topped” up when we came in. Gave off plenty of heat.
Notice in front door to “stamp feet” which was due to the amount of snow outside. It would be awful to slip on the stone floor.
Wish this pub was closer to where I live in Preston.
Will be coming again.
Thanks.

Absolutely amazing view great to stop off on a red hot day
Lovely place and views but pub was shut in the evening???
Have to give 1 star but would have given 0 of I could. Snow everywhere on the way, only pub around... get told by the extremely rude landlord to 'make sure you wipe your feet, I don't want to to get wet' after I've been stamping my feet to make sure I got all the snow oft my feet. Made me feel like a 5 year old boy. We bought 2 cups of coffee... £6.95ish for 2. What a joke. Obviously I felt embarrassed by the whole experience. I have never felt so crap whilst in the the lakes. All pub landlords are very welcoming. Normally advising 'walking boots and dogs welcome' but this landlord was an embarrassment to all landlords in the lake district. Comments like 'people have slipt on the wet floor' after the fact and AFTER we have spent money does not make up for the fact that he was completely ignorant and disgusting when we walked through the door. It's a good job I needed the loo, otherwise I would have walked out as soon as the landlord opened his mouth. Waste of money for the crap coffee and the most awful welcome I have ever experienced in England! And I am English.
