The Koppel Project Hive is pleased to present Utopia Through Nostalgia, a group exhibition featuring a body of work by nine emerging artists addressing ideas of time and the diminishing realities of existence.
In this group exhibition, ‘utopia’ becomes the imaginative reconstruction of a lost past. Entwined with memory and fantasy, it creates a past made from distorted narratives. Time advances, with its unforgiving power to decay, moving forward but never stopping. While it... has the ability to blur the past, it can leave us yearning for a life already lived.
The exhibition will be open from Thursday 10th January - Friday 8th February 2019.

📢📢📢 Next Wednesday 17th of October, Professionals for Africa will hold a Networking Event responding to our current exhibition Cu- and Tradition: Same Experience, Different Local at The Koppel Project Hive. This will be a great opportunity to meet professionals with an interest in Africa and learn more about emerging art from the continent and its descendants. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ During the event, there will be brief interviews and discussions with artists Gbolahan Ayoola and Jumoke Sanwo, hosted by Zimbabwean artist Bokani, who was recently featured on the BBC 1 show the Big Painting Challenge. 💫💫💫

The Koppel Project Hive and Professionals for Africa are delighted to offer an exclusive networking event responding to the exhibition Cu-ulture and Tradition: Same Experience, Different Local. It will be hosted at The Koppel Project Hive, where attendees will be able to visit the exhibition and chat with some of the artists.
During the evening there will be brief interviews and discussions with artists Gbolahan Ayoola and Jumoke Sanwo, hosted by Zimbabwean artist Bokani, who was recently featured on the BBC 1 show the Big Painting Challenge. This will be a great opportunity to meet professionals with an interest in Africa and learn more about emerging art from the continent and its descendants.

Our friends have just inaugurated 'Physarum Borax' at Platform Southwark. This exhibition, curated by Ella Fleck and Bryony James and featuring the work of the artists Iain Ball, Jack Felgate, Jesse A. Greenberg, Lara Joy Evans, Louise Gibson and, Pinar Marul, explores the attraction & satisfaction of a viral materiality, slime. Visit the show until the 27th of October!
