Tape measure, screwdriver, hammer, sponge, herbs.......these are just some of the interesting items on our B&Q shopping list! The preschool children have had an amazing week and have walked to B&Q every day to collect supplies for Miss Caroline to help spruce up the garden! Each group had their own little list of items to find, but before they even made it to B&Q so much learning taking place as we practiced our road safety! We were so very careful checking for moving cars a...nd checking our path was safe and clear! We made observations about our environment, we even noticed that there are bumps on the pavement before a zebra crossing to help blind people know where to cross!!! Each and every group demonstrated such beautiful behaviour and were so safety conscious, they were all a real credit to the nursery and of course, to you as parents!

Preschool had a special visit from Boogie Beats!! We sang lots of different nursery rhymes, used materials to dance with and musical instruments to make different sounds. We also had lots of fun with a massive parachute. A big thank you to Eliza's Mummy for organising it for us :)

This week babies have been celebrating the festival of colours!! They enjoyed using there senses exploring in the colourful cornflour and danced with ribbons to the different sounds played.

We are considering organising an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday and would like to collect your views on whether this would be something you would be interested in joining us for?? This would be no longer than a two hour event for you and your child to enjoy quality time with family and their friends from nursery.

All aboard the Red Nose Day Party bus! We have had so much fun dancing and choosing our own ways to move, we even made our own party bus!! We also got nice and messy to make a massive red nose!! We used our hands, fingers, brushes and balls to make lovely marks. After all that we sat down and decorated some yummy biscuits, we made our own icing and really enjoyed helping to mix the ingredients, it was all red of course!!
A big thank you to everyone who donated, every little ...helps and can make a massive difference to the lives of those less fortunate!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Today Preschool have proved themselves to be super brave and very caring, as they have met, touched and handled a variety of reptiles, insects and mammals courtesy of Little Zoo! The children had a fantastic time, asked hundreds of questions and were so beautifully behaved, it looks like we may have a few future zoo keepers in our midst!

Dear parents, As you may well already be aware, there is growing concern and coverage in the press regarding a 'MOMO Challenge'. Attached you will find a link to a fantastic guidance document for parents on the subject, which will be shortly followed by a similar guide relating to safe use of YouTube. Here at nursery we are constantly reinforcing basic online safety with the children, the key theme being 'if you see anything that you do not understand or that upsets you in ...any way, you must tell an adult immediately'. We also have a parent leaflet regarding Online Safety created here at nursery that is available in the parents area. If you have any concerns at all or would like to discuss this topic further please speak to the management team.

This week in Pre-school, we have been looking at various buildings and how they are constructed. The children used words like ’Architect’ and ‘building plans’ and we talked about how the builders would build, from the Architects designs; using materials such as metal, bricks and wood. We talked about the shapes we could see in the buildings using our mathematical language; Cylinder, Cuboid, Sphere and Rectangle. The children used their British Values and Schema's when using various construction materials to work out how they would build their own designs. The projects were done inside and outdoors, using various media. Finally finishing our topic with an afternoon of junk modelling structures. Much fun was had by all the children participating. We read the story of the Three Little Pigs to round off our week :)

This week 0-2's have been using their senses exploring in edible paint. We watched the yoghurt transform into paint using food colouring, and created pictures using balls, spoons and paintbrushes. It was very messy but we had lots of fun using different approaches; tasting and touching :)

We're going on a bear hunt....we're going to catch a big one 🐻 The babies have had a teddytastic week with this much loved story. Through exploring various textures and getting nice and messy the babies have felt swishy swashy grass, squelched and sqwerched in mud and hidden from the big bear! Alongside this the babies have also been examining ice and water. They have frozen toys and freed them, felt the ice as it melts and have even added glitter and paint to see what happens! We hope you all have a weekend as fantastic as our week has been!!!

What a lovely week it has been here at nursery, not only have we spent the whole week focusing on who we love and who matters most to us, some of our mummies and daddies came into play with us!! The toddler and preschool parent workshops have again proved to be a tremendous success as we have had so much positive feedback from parents and children alike!
