really great and friendly staff. cannot praise nathan, jack and their team enough

User

Went there after the Race-for-Life. They offered a free brunch to finishers so thought we’d take them up on it!! The food was delish and service delivered with a smile!! Thank you Libertines😋❤️

User

Went in during the day on a Saturday as I walk past the pub every week when at work. Very quiet for a Saturday but the decor was ace, the music was spot on and the service brilliant. Very friendly bar staff and good selection of drinks. This would be my local if I frequented Worthing.

User

We came for some lunch today and it was fantastic. The pork belly dish was the best I've had and the rest of the group had the mussels. We'll all be back soon for seconds! Highly recommended for food... and drink of course.

User

We booked a table for my wife's birthday today: 16 of us settled in for the Sunday roast and a few drinks.

The roasts were excellent: large portions of fresh / freshly cooked food, absolutely delicious! Having spent months scouring Brighton for the perfect roast, I think we may have found it in Worthing!

The staff at the Libertine are just brilliant, they looked after us and made us feel very much at home. We shall definitely be returning. Top marks all round!

User

Nathan was fantastic such great hospitality, went that extra mile thanks will definitely be returning

User

I've just had the best Fish Platter in the Libertine. My wife has the nachos which were also good and our toddler son devoured his hummus, olives and pitta bread that went down a treat. Good ales especially the Flying Dog Best thing I've eaten in Worthing

User

I hosted a 21st birthday party last night in the function room and it was the best night. Security introduced themselves and looked after us, no problems at all. Nathan was a star throughout the whole evening and made sure we were all ok. It went perfectly! Highly recommend using them for functions.

User

Had my 30th party here last night! Amazing, helpful team at The Libertine including door staff thank you

User

I really loved this place. The atmosphere is always positive. I feel comfortable here.

User

Ok, went to a party upstairs, lovely bar staff, no real ale which was a shame, the "Security guy" was very unfriendly, taken his task very seriously, got herded from the balcony bang on 11pm, just a little unnecessary. Having said that seemed a good time was being had downstairs,

User

I really like the libertine, but last night changed my mind....

Was having a lovely night with my family and friends for my sister in laws birthday, then went to the woods burger restaurant during the night with my boyfriend to then come back to the libertine and my boyfriend not being allowed back in by the stupid bouncers due to "suspicious behaviour". Completely unjustified, we weren't even drunk one single bit, or behaving wrongly!! Which made our night come to an abrupt end!!

STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot

Have always found the acoustics in this place a bit strange and gives me a headache every time. Despite that I go when needs must. Went yesterday and fancied a negroni but despite being a gin bar, they had no Campari. In fact the bar man didn't have a clue what it was. The barman also didn't understand what a large vodka was! Not great service! Ended up having half a punk and both drinks almost £10! Decided to have a Bloody Mary next...but oh..no - couldn't do that either!

User

The rudest staff! I complained and the bar woman withheld my drink. I asked to speak to the manager about the appalling service and the ‘bouncer’ physically removed me - with force. I will be reporting this horrid place to trading standards and elsewhere.

User

My family hosted a private party upstairs and my partner (who is is mixed race) had been blocked and told that he cannot pass. We were very dressed up and told the security that we are part of the party! He let us pass and then grabbed my partner and told him to go outside, where he was made to empty all of his pockets on the wall in front of everyone. They found NOTHING on him and still refused to let him enter. I asked why, and the 3 security guards were very verbally abusive towards me. My partner tried to defend me and one of the security guards (who was clearly on cocaine) started to call him names and pushed my partner to try and provoke him for a fight. My partner knew their intentions and chose to walk away. I tried to enter to say my goodbyes and was told to "open your bag love" by the female security. My mother had come down to speak to the security and they told my mother and my Aunty (the host) to "p*** off".

I will never be back here again, and neither will any of the party guests who were regulars.

A shame really.

User

Just been to the Libertine in Worthing earlier tonight...had a couple of drinks with my wife and arranged to meet my son in there so that we could go on to a restaurant.... (done this several times before). When my 16 year old son turned up at 6.50 I asked if he wanted a drink and he said sure.....a lemonade please.... he went to the bar ordered and the bar man poured him the drink....to be interrupted by the bar manageress asking him his age and telling him under 17's weren't allowed in the bar after 7pm.....I went to the bar (pointed out it wasn't 7pm yet in any case) and said ok I'll buy it for him if there's some sort of a problem...to which I was refused.....and then told it was against the law for under 18's to be in a bar after 7pm...I replied that that was utter nonsense! It may be bar policy but it's not against the law! ( I pointed out at this point that there had been a party for 5 & 6 year olds all the time we had been in the bar and that they were still there) Why are they allowed in the bar then? Its also not illegal for a 16 year old to be in a bar at any time.... my son has friends his age that work in bars...... I think at this point the person who had probably thought my son was on his own and didn't want to loose face...reiterated that it wasn't her view but it was the law!! Why do bars in Worthing alienate customers? This is not the first time it's happened to us over the course of our children's lives?? In Europe this would never even been an issue....

If you want business don't alienate the spending public!

I have visited the Libertine many times with my family and always had a lovely time. However, the last few times we have been we have experienced a bad attitude and bad atmosphere from the door staff. We reserved a few tables for my mums 50th birthday with 30+ people invited. The bar staff were lovely but we were made to feel unwelcome by the manager working. An uncomfortable experience overall. Disappointed.

User

Been here a few times, usually on a Sunday. Nice place, but I'm displeased with the service. This isn't the first time I come in and find the staff more interested in making love than customer service. This has happened a few times now and I shall not be returning.
